That's hilarious. I just heard about it in an email from my sister. Apparently during vitory celebrations they broke it in two pieces. I always wondered when something like that would happen. Oh well, so long as it doesn't happen to the Stanely Cup I don't really care what happens to the Grey Cup.

The Stanley Cup has taken quite a beating over the years. It has been banged up, pissed in, dumped in, broken, lost and who knows what else. BUT it has always been repaired back to normal.
The Grey Cup has also has been damaged in its history. The Rocket had his name scratched out, but it was replaced.

Peter Pocklington had his father's name put on the Stanley Cup. When the league discovered it, they had it removed.

Canada has two great trophies, the Stanley Cup, and the Grey Cup. No other country that I am aware of has two great trophies like this. (I know, the Stanley Cup is technically a North American trophy, but it was conceived in Canada, and it's where it rightfully belongs).
