I would go for it, but I don't live near Gwangju... I'll tell my friend who's just moved there, though.
Good luck to you! |

I don't live near Gwangju, either (I'm in Bucheon, which is between Incheon and Seoul)
I was so excited and then I read where you live *sigh* |

if you can get together a few who want highlights and/or cuts and can find me a floor to sleep on i'd come to seoul. i'd love to visit and explore. all is not lost!
anytime i have the opportunity to see new places and meet new people i'm up for travel. if i have enough work to pay for the trip all the better. |

| Gwangju eh? I'm in Jeonju, and could use a *safe* stylist and colorist. I'm a little scared about the dyes here though. More info? Prices, specialties, location, times, etc.? |

Which Gwangju City are you in?
The one down south or the one in Gyeonggi-do ? |

Ella,
I have fine, curly hair. It makes me crazy during weather like this.
jeefunk22,
I used products from the States. Not too sure about Korean chemicals either. I specialize in multi-color highlights (foiling using bleach and color). Been doing color for 25 years. Got out of the business because of the craziness and politics. Still love doing the work though. It's creative and rewarding.
I live in Gwangju, Jellamando. If there are a few people who live in one area I am willing to travel. Exploring and meeting new people are something like to do.
I'll be happy to give you a referral if you want one. |

Oh happy day, Happy girl!!!
I will be moving to Gwangju in Feb. I have been through hairshop horrors here, miscommunication, hairstylist egos, razor cuts...
I too have fine (naturaly) curly hair. I have been self dying with stuff I smuggled in my last trip home. My hair is now fairly long and it is hard to do the back of it myself. |

Hmm, sounds to me that we have a situation composed of 2 difficulites:
1) Everyone wants stylist, but there is no stylist around.
2) Stylist wants work, but none around her.
What would be wise is to pick a date, let's say a Saturday. Pick a place, who has a large well-ventilated joint? And everyone in the Seoul area get their shit done that day. Stylist gets paid. People have good hair. How does December 9th sound?
Stylist kitten, you may be wise to post a price list and ask people to write what they want so you know what supplies to bring. (also, that kinda makes people commit before you spend all day ona train...) |

I've had my hair done by said stylist and am very happy with it. Same for one of my coworkers. We've both had our hair butchered by the hairdressers here in Gwangju and were so excited to have someone who knew what she was doing!!
Demonicat has a good suggestion. Perhaps "the stylist" would give a free 'do' to whomever provides the apartment (assuming a few people committed to coming that day)? |
