What time of year do the University jobs start?

I work in a public school now. I'm assuming that universities start about the same time. I'm in a weird position where I wot be able to really start a new job unitl April. I hope it will be possible to start then. What are your experiences on starting off the normal time at universities. It worked when I got a job at a public school...

The only way you could possibly start in April is if you got hired by a not very good university. One can get hired by public schools at anytime since people pull runners or they cannot fill certain position because of location or pay. I doubt that any universities start in April so y
