Anyone have recommendation for Korean comic books I could order online? I'm a grad student and so do a lot of dry academic reading, but recently have been reading murder mysteries and some other short stories in a Korean class and find that my reading vocabulary is expanding a lot (since it's a page-turner).

This summer I want to do a lot of fun reading (before I go from my M.A. to a PhD program). So...comic recommendations?

I dunno about ordering it online, but i really liked the comic book called DVD. It's about a girl who has these vivid hallucinations and can't really tell if they are real or not until she touches them, at which point they disappear. The book starts out with her planning to commit suicide when she meets two dudes who she thinks are interesting and cool. But as she gets to know them, she begins worrying that they are merely hallucinations too. And the plot thickens...

By the way, you know how if you go to a comic bang, there's a million comics you can rent, but if you go to a bookstore, there's only a few you can buy? Does anybody know of a place where you can buy a large variety (the kind of variety they have at a comic bang) of comics?

Well, this might fit in with your request. My wife and son translated a Korean graphic novel into English (for the Frankfurt Book Fair 2005). It's called Buja's Diary by O Seyeong. It is a collection of thirteen stories by the author.

there aren't that many good korean comic titles imo.

you'd be better off getting japanese manga that's been translated to korean. better artwork and story Smile

and to billybrobby, you can go to any kyobo bookstore (the one in kangnam for example). they got a whole section of just manhwa. they have almost all the popular titles available to buy.
