Does anyone know any good dentists in Ilsan or Geomcheon, which are both to the north of Seoul. What cost would I be looking at for an amalgram filling?

Thanks

I don't know anything about Ilsan, but dental care in Korea is inexpensive, especially compared to the United States. I'm having a complicated procedure done now. I've had four appointments, xrays, two weeks of prescription medications, and the beginning of a procedure, and I've paid a total of W26,000. At this point, I would have paid around $700 in the US.

I know a good dentist. I can't remember his name but his clinic is called Tru Dent. It's in LaFesta in the same building as Burger King. If you go to the 2nd floor of Burger King & go out the 2nd floor exit & walk straight ahead, it's right there. A cleaning is 60,000 but things that are covered by your health insurance are cheap. A pulled wisdom tooth cost me 7,000.

Did you mean 7,000 or 70,000?

Thanks Cathenry. I might try to make an appointment for next Saturday morning. (Nearly all clinics shut at 3pm on Saturday afternoons.)

Part of my flling came out this week. No pain but I should probably get it done soon. Would have gone yesterday except I am sick with the flu. The last 2 prices I had for dental work were:

2000: Australia, $700 Au for 1 filling. Owch!
2001: Chiang Mai Thailand $16 Au (The Thai dentist trained in Melbourne Australia, & the repair was a complicated amalgram that I still have. He did a good job & it was cheap!)

Quite a price difference. Looks like prices in Korea are reasonable though.

Yep... i only paid 7,000 for a pulled tooth. However when I went on Friday I was told it would cost 80,000 for a small filling. Apparently wisdom teeth are covered by insurance but fillings aren't???? Not quite sure how that makes sense or maybe something was lost in the translation. I'll see at the end of the week when I go back for my filling.

I just had another appointment this morning. I'm up to W29,500 for five appointments, xrays, prescription meds, and work on a complicated tooth.
