|
|
I was walking through Gangnam Station today and thought I was seeing things. No, I wasn't. There's a New York Fries counter in the shopping area of the station.
In case you don't know, New York Fries is a Canadian franchise restaurant that sells fesh cut french fries and poutines (cheese, BBQ sauce and fries) as well as hot dogs.
It's quite good and worth the trip when you want that "back home taste". You can see it on your right as you walk towards exit 6. |

It's tasty stuff, but I have one caveat: I got The Works at that location (tomatoes, green onions, etc. on top) about 6 months ago and the veggies were frozen. Eww. |

BBQ sauce!? That's crazy...I mean that's gravy. |

Yes, and here's a picture of it:

There are at least two other locations but I'm sure there are many more. If they have it in Jeju as well there must be more than two in Seoul. |

Ok I've been to the New York Fries in Canada and in Gangnam - and it's definitely NOT BBQ sauce - it's gravy. Don't know what kind of BBQ sauce is used where you come from, but that'd sure make things interesting. |

If you are at the front gate of Hongik University.. cross the street to Hana Bank (then walk parallel with university.. not the downward direction).. you'll walk a block to the coffee shop (on the left).. then take the first left up the street.. and you'll see it on the left.
I ate there.. hotdogs taste like pre-packaged oscar meier weiners.. and the fries are saturated with so much grease, you can't even taste the potato.
I don't think I'll ever eat there again. Made me feel sick to my stomach about 5 times quicker than McDonalds ever has. |

The fries there were great
But, still doesn't beat the fries you get at Popeye's
Or even the cheese and chive covered potatoe wedges you can get at Nathan's..... |
