Selling
Nikon D80, 10megapixel NEW MODEL camera (3 months new) $850
I bought a Japan model so no warranty but it is in perfect working order, perfect sensor and perfect condition body. Nikon or canon SLR's ALWAYS work for over 1 year which is why I didn't pay $200 extra for the warrenty (korean model). Comes with nikon batterey, battery charger and 4.0gb sandisk SD card (holds 560 photos) USB SD high speed card reader, and 3 month NEW lowepro mini trekker camera bag (brand new). Retails for $1000-1100. Reselling 850
Nikon Nikkor 12-24 DX, 1:4G ED wideangle lens. This shoots an incredible 107 degrees. It is 10 months new with 2 months left on the warrenty. DX means designed for digital camera. It shoots amazing wideangle photos.
Retails for $1050. Asking for $900. Body cap, lens cap, UV filter and hood included. The second best part of this lens is that it works great to group photos (up-close) and works great for flowers (capturing detail, photos) Retails $1050 Reselling $900
Nikkor 80-400 AF VR ED 1:4.5-5.6D lens. The best part is that on the D80 body - it gets 500mm of zoom. This is huge. It is VR (virbration reduction) which means you can shoot without a tripod for most things except tiny birds which require a tripod. It can zoom down to 80 to be used for regurlar up-close photos. Comes with lens cap, body cap, UV filter and hood.
Retails for $1100
Reselling $900
I'm selling it as a package. Or 2 piece minimum. I can sell this easily individually on ebay.
please check ebay to verify my accurate prices.

well, it is 3 months new and I paid $925. When you consider I'm throwing in SD card, USB card reader, 2 UV filers and a lowepro NEW packpack - it's a stellar price. Those things alone cost $150

most useful accessory is the 4 gig sdcard.
uv filters are cheap, not all photographers use them, and they go with the lenses not the camera. 62mm uv filter is useless without a 62mm lens! so i don't see the point of 'throwing them in' ...
many photographers already have a bag, unless they buy your kit together and need a bag to go with it.
usb card reader isn't an essential item when you can connect the camera to any pc (plug and play) and download the images that way using a small portable cable.
i agree that the lenses are good value, the 12-24 is 10 months old and almost out of warranty, so i might suggest it's a tad over priced (only by $50 or so).
there's a lot of debate about the 80-400 vr and the quality of images at full zoom. from what i've seen, it's not as sharp or as fast as the bigma. fall off is around 10%, which is a lot. but it does have VR and people who are brand monogamists would buy it because it's a nikon.
but i've sent you an email. i'm interested in some of that kit! |

you said you wont sell, then quoted me?? for what point? quoting someone usually suggests some kind of rebuttal.
your email said you wont haggle ... that's a bit silly really, considering you're trying to pass on $2700 worth of gear (your value) and not at least consider lowering your price to meet the valuation of your buyer.
i'd recommend you aim at ignorant people who have lots of cash and know nothing about photography. they're your most likely market ... anyone who understands cameras wouldn't pay what you're asking. regardless of what you 'paid' it's simply not worth that much.
lastly, you said you're "throwing extras" into the deal. you can quote their value, but can't use them to justify your price. the body is worth $700 maximum. period.
based on that, my offer was quite reasonable. but if you don't haggle ... fair enough.
next time, don't quote me unless you're going to make a point. |
