I was also wondering how banning illegal gambling will work...it's already banned right...because it's illegal...right?

Sometimes I'm astounded by the idiocy of Korean law enforcement. Make a law to make it illegal to do something that is already illegal to do under law; efficiency at it's finest.

What I really love is that they give a date for when the "crackdown" will begin. That way they can close down for a month while the police are on the prowl and then after the month is over they will all reopen. They do this with whorehouses, hogwons open past 10pm, massage parlours, speeding, drinking and driving, etc etc etc. It really shows how lazy the police are in this country.

Hagwons aren't supposed to be open past 10:00? I regularly teach till 10:30 and one of the K teachers has at least one period after this possibly more but I don't stick around to see what more craziness there is.

ah, bless, it's christmas,
never have I missed the season more than this year, come the 26th I normally watch a good program of national hunt racing with my uncles after lunch. We all have backed horses but you keep it under your hat, bar a few digs about other horses in the race....and they're over the last and it's rooster boostaaaa by a length...uncle tom screws up his nose, martin regurgitates some goose, my father wishes he had the house on the old grey legend...I gently roar home the winner ( nothing worse than the calm authority of the arrogant successful gambler , YOU WORK FOR A CRUST, PEASANT, DO YOU?) and pretend to have backed him at tens in the morning before finishing my hot toddy and marching imperiously up the road to a teeming booozer...Simply having a...
