I would learn the basic phrases: Yes, No, thank you, sorry. I don't understand. And the chinese based numbers because this is how they count money. |

Learning to pronounce them properly will probably take longer than learning the alphabet haha.
But yes, you probably should. However you're not coming until january so you have plenty of time to learn the alphabet first. You can learn to read Korean in an afternoon. However your reading will be damn slow for a while. Learning to read Korean is the first step to learning to speak Korean. If you try and learn to speak it without being able to read it your pronounciation will be unintelligible to any =) korean speaker. So.. learn to read =) It really is pretty simple.. then you can impress your friends by writing their name in Korean haha. |

The Korean Alphabet is so simple it ain't funny.
Just one of the advantages to having the absolute best Language in the world, ask anyone.
