My question is basically: At the end of the month, what is the difference between what you have left in the bank and your paycheck?

Like many people I am coming to Korea to save money and pay off some loans. I just want to make sure that my goals are realistic.

I know this thread has been done before but some people state they spend 300 000 a month, others are at 1.8 million per month. Are they including taxes, utilities etc. I am looking for an answer that includes ALL expenses, even paycheck deductions.

I am hoping that I can spend around 1 million on EVERYTHING per month, taxes, medical, pension, utilities, food, entertainment etc etc etc.

If you really try you can spend way less then a million a month. I usually budge for W125k - W150/week....and that's plenty!!

Eh I'm right around the 800,000 won mark. I'd say about 1,000,000 if we're counting Korean classes

100 000won lasts me about 8-10 days (i dont pay any bills except for internet)
So I guess I spend 400 000 a month
But I live in the countryside, so its hard to spend money here

I get paid 2.3

After taxes, pension, healthcare, most of my bills, etc, I come home with just over 2.1

I then spend 100 000 a week on food and fun and my phone and gas bill.

So I save 1.7 a month but I am pretty thrifty so you need to keep that in mind!

So budgeting 250 000 for payroll deductions, 100 000 for Utilities,
400 000 for groceries, and 300 000 for entertainment is realistic?

This puts me at just over 1 million off my paycheck. Yahoo!

I spend under W500,000 each month, but my only bills are gas (usually less than 2,000) and telephone/internet (usually around W40,000).
