Watching the nine o�clock news I was, as I am every year, surprised to see the annual lighting of the X-mas tree in Seoul. Why is there a cross on the top of it? Is it really necessary to perch upon a tree an instrument of torture? It offends me that I should have to see it, and frankly I would rather not have my daughter confronted with such a gruesome reminder of humanities capacity for violence and religious fanaticism.
Dawkins was quite right when he pointed out that if Jesus had been executed 2000 years later, Christians would be wearing an electric chair around their necks. Would you want you children confronted with that?
