Umm yeah-- I'm well confused now. Sorry I'm not getting you guys so -- what's cheaper? To bring a laptop, buy bits and pieces here (US) and bring them, or build Koolrean style once in Seoul. If I go with another desktop I want to build an entry-level server system and of course, bring back the innards when I leave Korea. Are these kinds of parts readily available?? Also, Demophobe, how did you ship your comp? I have to say that I've always had the same experience as Dashing of shippers charging exorbitant prices...Sorry for the repetition.

I shipped my comp by sea, with Sea Road Transport, a Korean-based company with offices all over. It takes about 30 days but it's a good deal in my opinion. I have the number if you ever need it....just PM me.

If you are buying a laptop, you could buy here or in the west, it's your secision. Personally, I can't see a big difference either way...perhaps a bit cheaper in the west.

Desktops...well, no reason at all to buy in the west and ship it. Buy it here in Korea and ship it home when you go.

I am leaving korea soon, going back to canada, and am wondering the best way to ship my desktop home. I bought it here about a year ago and really like it so i dont want to leave it behind. I guess i could try to fit it in my suitcase but is it possible to ship it with korean post or a delivery service. And also as i am so very naive when it comes to these things, what will i need in order to use it at home, as the voltage is different. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
