9:20 in the morning: I just finished making and eating a Swiss steak with sauteed veggies, French bread and a glass of wine.
Gawd I miss home. Wish I were going there over the holidays. |

What questions!
It is not a breakfest meal where I come from. Hence why it's "odd".
Swiss steak is a dinner meal. I'm surprised you've never heard of it. It's on the menus of many restaurants and my father makes it awesome. It looks like:
(but I don't use rice here because there's rice aplenty in restaurants in this country)
(but I didn't use potatoes this time)
(That's it. With egg bow noodles. That's what I did.)
If made right it is incredible! I usually make Swiss steak about once every month or two. And only for dinner. But it's December and I'm not going home for the holidays, missed my dad, so cooked it first thing this morning. Hence "odd breakfast". I started out to have the less odd steak-and-eggs dish, but got carried away.
As for the other question: The half glass of red wine is nothing for a non-drinker to do at 9 am when one doesn't work until 3 pm because there's no temptation to fill the glass up or have another! It's simply part of the eating Swiss steak experience, and aids digestion. |

I always like to eat cold pizza for breakfast. I have to peel off the cold cheese and just eat the doughy part. If there's Ranch dressing and Tobasco in my fridge then I'm in heaven. |

You're quite right.9 am drinking is not for amateurs.There is hope though-it is a skill that can be acquired,though how you removed the temptation to fill 'er up is a little more masterly. |

To me, there is no such thing as breakfast food. I can eat whatever, whenever. |

Yuck! Cold pizza sucks. Why do so many Americans like this? I was raised on nice, hot meals..not junk food. My Mom is an excellent cook and so am I. Most women couldn't cook if their lives depended on it. I met a girl here from Canada who said she was raised on sandwiches. Her stepdad made all these different combos, like peanut butter and onion. I couldn't live on sandwiches either. Hot meals folks, hot meals. |

As an American woman who can cook, I must say cold pizza is just great for breakfast. You can eat it with one hand while running out the door. It is fun, junk food in the morning. One thing I must admit, Korean pizza is not very good cold. |

I'm happy you were raised on hot meals. I think you'll find that a lot of Americans were raised on hot meals. I was, my friends all were, it's really not that rare. I also know how to cook but I don't enjoy it so meals tend to be simple and easy. The cold pizza thing came during college when I would wake up and have little time to eat before class. Now it's just something I enjoy on occassion. |
