I really wish there was a time I have gone to Seoul and not been surprised by some Westerner, but alas, today was most definitely not one of those days.
Foreigner #1: Apparently you ran up to the friend I was meeting (before i got there) and gave her a flower which was most likely taken from the garbage, said, "here you are." and ran away. Any reason for this? Why an old, crappy flower?
Foreigner #2 (though this one might be nothing): Why were you (an over 40 year old guy) with a teenage boy in a fancy restaurant (seriously, I can think of a few reasons, but it was still weird)? It obviously wasn't an English lesson. And why would you feel the need to point out Korea's faults to him? EDIT It's just weird, like the other stories. I am not assuming this guy is banging the teenager. It's just not normal to see that, and probably not safe either.
And ofcourse Foreigner #3: On the train, you had your finger right up your nose. You took it out and looked at it and then flicked it away. Up goes the finger again. This time it apparently looks good enough to eat. Yummy. Third time was just a bit of looking at it and then flicking it away again. So, curious as to how big the barn you were raised in was?

Maybe he needs a Game Boy or something. Maybe he quit smoking but needs something to do with his hands. Maybe his nasal product tastes like candy because his sinuses secrete sugar as part of a freak occurance that medical science hasn't discovered yet. |

Definitely wasn't family. I caught enough of the conversation to know that (he is a loud talker). Still, like I pointed out, I thought of several reasons (all legit) for that. It is still weird  |

Yes - Mr Foreigner #2 - so bad of you... don't you know the law.... A male foreigner over the age of 40 - is prohibited from eating in a fancy restuarant with any other person under the age of 40.....
next time - take him to Burger King!! or order pizza in from your apartment!! |

I said I had thought of reasons they may have been out that were perfectly legit, but this guy had no family connection to the boy. If he is a teacher, it is inappropriate. If he is a minister, it is again inappropriate. Etc. It is weird. I didn't say what you said, you put quite a few of your own words into my idea that I did not say for emotional effect. An over 40 year old guy with an under 17 year old teenager at a fancy restaurant is weird, even if the intentions are fine. Your post is why I try not to post here anymore. |

A random foreigner running up to a Korean girl, giving her an old and dirty flower and running away isn't weird? And an over 40 year old guy with no family connections at a fancy restaurant with a under 17 year old teenage boy talking about how much he doesn't like Korea isn't weird? |

Then there was the guy I saw this summer...
Foreigner #4: Saw you on the subway. The cutoff jean shorts and tanktop were pretty dirty but heh, whatever. I guess it can also be quite hard to find a barber that isn't a *beep* house, so going atleast a year without a haircut is also fine. But I do think you should atleast try to take a shower a bit more often to get rid of that smell you give off. |

He's probably one of the guys who complains on here that no one will sit next to him on the subway. |
