I enjoy going to the casinos here in Korea, and I'm almost addicted to the point where my bank money is starting to get drained very quickly after I've paid all of my bills. I don't have a Visa, and I used to throw away my debit card so I couldn't draw money from the machine in the bank. I've got a new card, because it was too miserable to be without one, and I recently blew a lot of money.(everything I had). The staff in the Pusan casino are usually pretty good, and they know when someone is using his wits to legally make money. They close a blind eye I think, because chance, and probability will eventually succer the money back into the casino.
I think I will have to destroy my card again, but there are guys in those places that always make money. Anyone know how? |

Bet small when you're going to lose, bet big when you're going to win.
I'd go more often, but every time I do go to a casino someone gets laid off the next day due to the casino losses from what they had to pay me. |

This thread reeks of troll (or dumbass), but here goes.
If you want to try and make money a) casinos are the wrong place.
**steps down from pulpit**
Now, here's the deal. You ever watch the Travel Channel? You ever see their WEEKLONG special on how to beat the odds? No, you say? No worries.
First, you play "21". Period. It's the only game where you have a statistically sound chance of making/keeping your money. Basic rule: bet low if a lot of aces have been played, bet high if a lot of 5's have been played. You know that, right? But, I'm sure many folks don't. Go to Yahoo. They have a lot of "21" tips like this.
Second, ask for "comps" (freebies) at the front desk. They add up quickly (in Vegas, don't know about here).
Third, forego the free drinks. How do you expect to count cards if you're three sheets to the wind?
Good luck |

Think I'm a dumbas, because I fall into the same category of people who lose money at the casinos. Have noticed though that certain people at a certain casino here in Korea always have luck on the Roulette. They keep checking the numbers on the screen, and seem to get there W50,000 worth of chips on the right number every time. That is they buy W200,000 worth of chips and distribute them in W50,000 piles. Actually saw a guy walk out with W27,000,000 from a roulette table after starting out with W200,000.
I think there is a mental or psychic side to playing the game too. |

As my handle implies, I have considerable experience (on both sides of the table) in casinos. Cost for my "consultation" is lunch with a beer. Any takers?? |

Roulette is definantly luck. In the long term the house will always win because of the 0. You can't count numbers in Roulette because on every individual spin the odds are the same. I know over the long run you may have 7 blacks in a row so put it on red right. I bet those betters have had some shocking nights on the roulette table.
The only games in the casino where you can win are Blackjack(though you have to be very good at card counting) and Polker(how often do you see polker at a casino??Never, now you know why). |

In Nevada there is poker. The house takes a straight percentage off the top pf every hand from every player who wins. In poker you can win because youare playing against other players - if you can "read" them and know their"tells" you will know when they bluff and when they have a real hand. This is how come their are professional poker players but no professionals roulette players ... |

Medic, stay out of the casinos. You're throwing your money away, and you clearly have a problem. Don't listen to a word I say next except for this: www.gamblersanonymous.org
Roulette is a suckers game, as are craps, the wheel of fortune, slots, and just about everything else in the casino. These games are fixed probability games. Watching for patterns to try to figure out what to do next is as pointless as trying to figure out whether it's going to rain based on the cars that have just passed your window. The dice have no memory, the wheel has no memory, and an honest slot machine has no memory. The probability of your losing remains the same from one game to the next, and the longer you play against those odds, the more inevitable it is that you will lose everything you put into it.
The best chance you will ever have of doubling your money is this. Put all the money you care to gamble on one big bet on a game that pays 1:1 (say, black in roulette). Then, win or lose, never walk into a casino again. You won't get better odds of coming out ahead than that 48% on these games.
Blackjack is different, as it's a variable probability game. The odds change everytime a card comes out of the deck. When high cards leave the deck, the odds swing slightly in favor of the dealer, when low cards leave, the odds slightly favor the player. Blackjack, with a lot of time and effort can be beaten through counting cards, and betting bigger when there are more low cards than high cards. But the edge is small. For the best counters, the edge is somewhere around 1%, and short term fluctuations can easily wipe out all but the biggest bankrolls. However, learning to count effectively at casino speed takes years of practice, and the amount of time it takes for to fully expect to see the fruits of your labors is on the order of 500,000-1,000,000 hands. You're better off having a job. It takes a very special breed of person to make it at counting cards, and I was brought to the inevitable conclusion that I am not one of them.
For the rest of us mere mortals, the less time we spend in a casino the better off we will be.

As far as I know, almost every Nevada casino has a poker room. Atlantic City too, for that matter. Of course, poker's not played on the main floor, so it's not as visible as many of the other games. |

In australia the only place they play poker in the casino is in side, private rooms so regular players can't play. |

I got so fed up too with blowing money in the casinos here. So I tried online sports wagering. Much better results. Give it a shot. |

Gambling is for the birds. Just as risky as the stock market.
Put your money into a retirement plan, bonds, or a income property.

Bonds? If you're talking about U.S. bonds (would you buy any other kind), now is the WORST possible time. |

play 21...best chances statistically as stated previously....also depends on the house rules...whether house holds on 16 or 17 (some foreign casinos will play by Vegas rules) but generally you can raise your "chances" by holding on 13....it's hard to do but make yourself do it...I've played here in Korea, Cambodia, Europe and S. America quite a bit and only play 21, most of the time...hold on 13 or 14 because the house must play on...
if you want to try roulette just check out the lighted board..it well tell you how many times red or black has come up in the last 12 spins or so...not scientific but is fun to try and you may get lucky...just check the last 6-8 spins and bet on the color that has come up the most...more fun than anything... |

If you want to play blackjack and get the best odds possible, learn Basic Strategy (http://www.wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/). This will bring the casino's edge down to around half a percent. These are just about the best odds available in the casino. You will still be playing a game that you are destined to lose in the long run, but your money will last the longest. |
