There's Black and Tan in the mexican place (where I got to have the weakest margita in my life Sad ) in Itaewon and that's pretty drinkable. Any other decent places? I think I'd submitt to a thousand dong chims for some Guiness on tap. I'm getting a bit tired to drinking korean beer or paying insane prices for imported bottled beer. Hmmm come to think of it even a place with a good selection of bottled stuff would be ok, don't think I've seen any any pilsners or india pale ales both of which I really miss Sad

Guinness on tap? Can be found in Itaewon at many places.
Gecko's terrace 8500 won
Helios 8000 won
3 alley pub 8500 won
Seoul pub 8000 or 8500 won
Nashville 10500won (don't get it here as the guinness is horriffic, but their Korean draft beer is good, I like the Red Rock on tap there and it is only 2500 won for a 500cc pint)
The first four places that I list the guinness is pretty good, as good as you are going to find in Korea that I have noticed anyway. As I said, don't bother with Guinness at Nashville but the others are ok.
These are the places that I have been and found Guinness on tap, but there could be more.
Hope this helps

Dublin pub near Gangnam Station is pricey, but it has a decent atmosphere, reasonably good selection of bottled beers and pretty good Guinness on tap.

An Irish friend worked there for a time and she said it's as good as you'll get outside of Ireland.

Walk out of the station, exit 7, walk two or three blocks, take a right at Jump Milano (k-style shopping mall) and then your first left as you walk up the hill.

Beer on tap would be great. Here in gwangju there is none, but the local stuff, which comes in those canisters, which by the looks of them, the liquid inside is under pressure. I have heard that the local draft is infact constituted much like a soft drink, with the water being added to the solution. I can't for the life of me, drink the local draft, it damages you, but not from the alcohol, but from some of the additives add. Anyways... I am rambling.... I hope you find good draft beer....

3Alley Pub in Itaewon has the usual Korean on draft but also a couple of good European brews also, Stella Artois and Hoegarden, maybe Fosters, not sure. Prices are reasonable, right around 5000 won for the imported drafts.

Am I the only person here who hates Hoegaarten?

Oh well, I take comfort in the fact that I pronounce it correctly.

I'm not there yet, but 5000 won sounds like a great deal to me (by Korean standards, of course).

I've found that pronouncing it correctly is a sure way not to have the bartender/waiter understand you, unfortunately.

Mind you, that's 5000 won for the SMALL glass; I think it's a 1/2 pint or about 300 ml. Still, it's a nice treat.

As a kind of vaguely lip-stickish aftertaste that I don't like but it beats most of what you can get here. I usually stick to korean saengmaekju and Beck's Dark (since, while hardly great, its cheaper than most imports and relatively dark to balance out all the watery shit lager)

Shocked
gaak!
Next time I'm bringing a guiness mini-keg as my carryon...
