When I bought my laptop it didn't have word nor did it come with a word CD. I don't care if it's a 2000 version what are my best options in terms of getting it on my computer. I do use Sun systems, but it is still slightly a hassle to keep on saving it in different versions to deal with the lack of having Microsoft Word.

Don't worry about it. Just go to www.openoffice.org and download their free suite of programs.

Why don't you just download MS Office 2007 from the torrents?

Torrents for MS-office 2003 or 2007.
You can probably (99% certainty) get a copy for under 20k won at the tunnel or outside the terminal building at Yongsan.

Open office is a LEGAL and FREE alternative and it allows you to open and save as an MS-word file.

It never ceases to amaze me when people come here, in the year 2008, 11-12 years after file-sharing started, and ask where they can get software. Shocked

Or those who don't want to download because it's illegal. They baffle my bonce too. Shocked Shocked

I do have open office. However, if you are working on several drafts with a friend who doesn't use it, it is not so convenient. I tried downloading from my friend's server in Canada, but the connection was lost.

I don't really use torrents. I downloaded a version of Word from Limewire, it didn't seem to work. I may try going to Yongsan unless I can find a version that works off limewire. Anyway, don't you have to burn it on a CD after you download it from a site?

I have limewire. I just downloaded. I have the free version. I did download something that said Word 2003, and it didn't work, and sometimes this free version doesn't pull up any files. Is there a better file sharing site?

It's not like I don't have it, but it's more convenient to have word. I will look at yongsan after payday and ask around. I tried torrent, but
I am concerned about trojans. If you are working on several drafts of essays and someone is helping you and they don't have Open Office, it can be a little bit irksome, because you have to make sure you keep saving it in a version they can read it in. Open office has served me relatively well, but I need word....I suppose I will go to yongsan the following weekend. I haven't used torrent much. I have limewire is that the best thing. I haven't really used it. Sometimes it does searches and sometimes it doesn't. Is it because I have the free version?

Limewire will work but you have to screen the crap out.

Where are you located. Would a trip to Seohyun station be too inconvenient for you?

I am in Ilsan. I can get to Yongsan no problem. I will go there after the 10th of April when I get paid and get me a CD version. Where is Seohyun? I am sure I can find it on the map. Heck, I am used to traveling on the metro. I went all the way to Gaerong before from Ilsan. Traveling 1 hour and a half is no big deal for me. Why do you ask? I have no problem using a file sharing thing, but I haven't used anyone besides Kazaa with success, and I had a paid version of that.

Thanks...

Do you have Skype? Myself or someone else could just send it to you via file transfer.
