The Touch is cool and I like it. The problem I have is with the damn updates. Apple has go tto be the only company in the world to charge for updates.
Hell, I bought the January update because I wanted the new Apps. Now, if I want to take advantage of AppStore, I gotta pay another $10.
People who buy this update now, get the January update for free. Why the hell isn't Apple giving the people who previosuly paid for an update a break? |

surely theres something online you can find, i.e cracked updates, unoffical firmware or just something totally different.
i wouldnt be paying for updates EVER thats a fuckin joke for a company to pull that crap.
look online for an alternative,..surely it exists. |

| I feel that Apple has been taking care of those iPhone owners more than the touch owners. I paid for the 1.1.4 update. Now I paid for the 2.0 update. |

The 2.0 Updates gives you nothing. It gives you the ability to load the new Apps.
People who bought the January update should be getting this 2.0 update for free.
So the iPod Touch is at 2.0 firmware now. Do you think new iPod touch's will have 2.0 firmware preloaded? Probably not. Apple wants you to spend extra money to unlock MORE functionality out of your device.
F*ck Apple. iPhone users get it for free. iPod Touch users have to pay extra.
Why is there no uproar about this on the internet? Why aren't consumer groups crying foul??? |

| You should never have to pay for firmware updates or anything of the sort. One more policy I can't stand from Apple. |

| Even though I paid the $10 fee for the update, (after waiting a day after the 11th for the site to get back online properly) I did notice some differences in the settings. The biggest is that the keyboard will now allow hanguel. That's nothing big, but was nice for my M-i-l with hers. She had the original firmware which we had never updated until 2.0 came out. |

Well, there was no precedent. If I had known Apple was going to charge money to update the software on their products then I would've probably bought a Cowon PMP instead.
I just don't get how iPhone users get it free, but Touch users pay extra. |

Well, it is totally ridiculous that you got charged twice essentially for updating your Touch, but even with the added cost, I still think the Touch is well worth the money especially with the added functionality of the new apps in the app store. |

Pound for pound, Apple are far worse than MS on almost every front; it is only their relative insignificance in the computer market that keeps them out of court.
Someone needs to get litigious on them for their smug, F.U. attitude towards their bread and butter. |
