Is there anybody here who has Ameraisan kids? My Korean wife and I have a 14 month and 1 month-old. I'm curious to hear of others' experiences with with raising mixed children here -- socialization, schools, etc. Thanks |

wtf is an Ameraisan kid?
Kind of self centered American thinking if you are implying American+Asian kid. Not to bring another anti-American thread about, but you might want to think about the fact there are more Canadian, Australian, and New Zealanders in Korea teaching than Americans. Let's also not forget the Brits/Irish.
Quite a few people have posted on this board about having kids with their Korean wives...do a search? |

She's Kristen from Smallville. I don't really care for her looks. Perhaps it is her over acting that did it for me.

I'm guessing the OP is an American citizen, hence the "Amerasian" phrase - he might be looking for information from fellow Americans who have mixed kids.
Doesn't really imply self-centredness at all I don't think... |

It seems that McSnack is asking a legit question. It could make an interesting thread. We have a young woman in our program that is an exchange student from the U.S. She is here because when she was a baby, born in Daegu, she was adopted and went to the States. Her experiences have been disconcerting, to say the least.
I raised my own little mixed girl in the States (not half Asian) and the experience was (is ) profound. Coming up mixed in a racist world is not all about having a pretty face. My own daughter is a knockout, but it saved her none of the grief she experienced growing up, and still experiences on occasion.
McSnack, I hope some of the good parents I have seen posting here start a discussion about this. It would be one of the more worthwhile threads on the board. |

Well, I have two boys aged 5 and 3. I'm Canadian though, so I don't know what you'd call them - Asianuks?
I'm not sure how one would define 'good parent' and whether I'd make the grade or not, but I am willing to participate in this thread if anyone has some specific questions. |

Maybe you'd like to give us a list of which of us are the "good" parents then? |

They would be "Amerasian". You are from a continent called North America. |

Yeah, but you have to work Korea or at least Asia in there somewhere. Maybe Cahangukistanians? That's catchy. |
