Look I know most Korean Tv shows are shocking, especially the dramas but there are a couple of Ok ones.
For me it is Brain Survivor or the stupider alternative No Brain Survivor. Also, didn't mind Dream Team when it was on. Also, Nonstop isn't bad, when they guy with the afro was on. Now it is a little bit more bland. |

I don'y have a favorite one these days but about 4 years ago there was a great show on. It was called "wong cho" loosely translated to king of beggars. It was about a guy, played by Cha In pyo, who stood up to the gangsters in the area with a group of other beggars. it showed the times before the Korean war and when they were all drafted into the war and of course had the tragic love story that most Korean dramas have. ( which i , being the sap that i am cried about at the end) I dont' know if the show was that great but it did make the cute Korean guy I was dating come over all the time to translate. NOw he is my husband!! so whenever i think about the show it makes me happy. |

It used to be "Hangook Oui Boeenda" or, "Korea - How I See It" (loose translation) when they had Bruno & Pochang on. This was about 5 years ago or so.
After the Bruno and Pochang segmetns ended it got mediocre.
So, th best Korean show was - and still remains at this hour (I'll be back ina few days and then can see if there's anything remotely interesting on - though I doubt there will be).
The Airirang color bars that always used to come on at the end of the broadcast day (I bet they're 24-7 now) and it had an endless music loop of "Love is Blue."
Is Bruno Bruni still in Korea, or did his 15 minutes finally wrap?

He had a situation with a minor, and Im not sure if he had a run in with the law, or a close call. But either way he left the country and I dont think he'll find it easy to get back in. |

The new Nonstop sucks (since they changed the setting and totally turned over the cast). I used to watch it for a couple of cheap laughs and Korean listening practice, but for the current episodes I can't be stuffed. |

I love the costumes, music, and overall production of Daejang-gum, but of course to a large extent the plot is still classic Korean soap opera pap. |

I loved the old Nonstop. But I can't be bothered with the new one. It seems other foreigners feel the same way. I wonder what the Koreans think of it?
Last year there was a drama series on Arirang called "Yesterday". It was about a boy who lost his parents in an accident and was adopted by a politicians family. It focused on his troubles with the family and his on/off romance with his childhood love. It ran for 6 weeks. My boyfriend and I were addicted. We watched it every day and were pretty disappointed when it ended. |

No idea on him.... he sort of stayed under the radar after that first show from what I can remember.... could still be around, but I dont think he does any tv work.

Most of my Korean friends think its a load of crap.... its far from funny. I never found it that amusing, but nowdays its got no comic merit whatsoever. Just kill it off for gods sake, if not mine |

Love House, which is on just before Brain Survivor.
Forget one of the best shows in Korea, it's one of the best shows anywhere in the world. |

All of my students who I've asked say the same, none of them seem to like the new version. It's a shame, I used to use it in speaking classes, talking about the storylines and stuff. "I missed last night's episode, can you tell me what happened in English?" |
