Its what we called "cow corn" where I grew up.
But if you approach it not expecting sweet corn it can be an enjoyable food. A bit chewy, nice grainy flavor, nutritious. |

| yeah, I cook it like I were cooking a grain, just leave it in the boiling water a little longer and dont expect sweet. maybe mix it with your rice.....it's not sweet corn, but it's pretty ignorant to call it disgusting. there are many kinds of corn. just sayin' |

Yeah, I don't think people know there are different kinds of corn.
You can probably find canned sweet corn at E-mart, though. Del Monte makes it in Thailand. |

You can but tinned corn in homeplus, I bought sweetcorn and it was of a good standard. As for the corn you said is disgusting, it is not sweetcorn, so don't expect it to be sweet and treat it like a different produce all together.

| Add sugar to the water while boiling the corn. There is sugar available for the specific purpose of sweetening corn. I tried it and it worked very well. |

sadly, there is almost nothing nutritious about corn. mammals were never even designed to eat the stuff. |

All corn is 'pig feed' my dad used to say. Peas too. It was leafy vegetables like lettuce and cabbage that he said was fodder for the cows. "Let the cow eat the grass and I'll eat the cow." Of course, he cooked lots of other veggies in soups and stews, being of Hungarian stock (onions, peppers, carrots, garlic, potatoes, etc). |

I can't help but wonder if Korean corn is as significantly different in, uh, excretion as it is in ingestion.
I don't want to volunteer for such a study. |

You gotta love some of these postings . The corn they have in Korea is worth eating and still kind of tasty once you get used to the fact that it's different. |

I'm curious about where you come up with this info. Could you explain further? If nothing else there are useful protiens in corn and there has to be some vitamins and minerals. |
