Quote:
The number of women working in the sex trade stood at 5,103 in 2013, up from 4,917 in 2010. Almost 80 percent of these women were in their 20s and 30s, according to the report.

OK, now 'apologists' and 'bashers' should equally be able to agree that these reported numbers are woefully inaccurate and under-reported. In a country of 50 million with as many massage parlors, room salons, jack shacks, coffee shops, etc, etc, etc, as there are, the idea that there are only 5k sex workers is a total and complete crock of shit.

Probably 5,000 in whatever city (i'm guessing maybe Gwangju-sizeish) the author was using as an example for her article. Definitely not nationwide. Also, she might only mean pure prostitutes instead of grey-area girls like those that work in business bars or something.

The truth is we'll have all the oil we need in North America with extra for export soon enough. A few more years and the rest of the world can get our collective middle fingers, especially all the crazies over there.

How does a conversation about Korean culture become about stupid Middle East politics? China by the way takes most of the oil out of Iraq, not the west.

Speaking of murder, who crashed those planes into those towers in 9/11? Who struck first them or us? Who gets young men to strap bombs onto themselves to go and kill other innocent people? Which has no value for human life? I mean you really want to have this conversation?

Ok, for everyone else, this is a conversation about Korea. So, let's talk about Korea instead of some apologist hippy revisionist propoganda.

So, yeah, what about dem girls over here eyeing the Guuchi bags?

Uhh China did not invade the Middle East.

Oh right, because "the terrorists" are real, and why the US are there? Sorry no money to be made chasing imaginary terrorists.

Greed/materialism comes at a cost.

You just said the west invaded Iraq for oil. But since they're not getting any of that oil nor enforcing some type of unequal treaty, maybe, just maybe, they didn't go there for oil.

I disagreed with the Iraq war because it was a distraction to going after Afghanistan and Al Queda, but I think there was a sincere if not naive view about bringing democracy to other places. But do any of you ever come out of your holes long enough to ever live in the moment or just to live in endless conspiracies?

Iraq was a huge blunder and un necessary, but now that you have nutholes cutting other people's heads off and getting wealthier by the day (where women's rights are not respected, nor anyone else's) there is no choice but to go back in there. Colin Powell once said: "If you break it, you own it." I'm sure he was hoping there'd be no Iraq war at the time when he said that.

Anyhow, this is a conversation about Korea not imaginary conspiracies.

By this I meant oil in our grounds from Alberta to Texas and from California to Nova Scotia (in places where fracking and exploration is allowed).

On our prostitution-relevant discussion of MidEast politics, I have to say that the belief that we invaded Iraq for Oil is one of the worst myths out there.

Weigooken74 is right on all accounts.

At least they are trying to make it better here. Look at Las Vegas, prostitution is pretty much legal there.

But most visitors to Las Vegas would say that's not a bad thing, wouldn't they?
