| Only problem is that the army depends on 19 year olds to do the PMCS, and they just don't like to do it. It's always someone else's problem until the equipment eventually breaks down. Then they have to call in a maintenance specialist to fix it. All this takes a lot of time. So, yeah you can tell yourself that these things will protect you from the barrage of artillery and rockets that would rain down on Seoul, but in reality half of them will be down for maintenance. |

Of course South Koreans don't care about the North Korean threat. As long as their "watch dogs" are on their soil (U.S. Military) they don't have to care. I'll bet that if the U.S. Military left suddenly, and NK decided to launch an assault, and the U.S. embassy was issuing free visas, half of Gangnam would be banging down their doors in hopes to make it to KTown LA. LOL. Maybe more.

Meh, Americans are the ones who like to make a big deal out of this stuff (the ultra dangerous North Korean threat), even though they have never been to Korea and have no idea what they are talking about. It makes them feel important I guess. |

Half of Gangnam already lives in LA. They would like to see their assets in Korea protected. But if war does happen it just means they might have to reschedule their redevelopment plans for the area. |

If the U.S. Military were to ever withdraw, and the N.K. forces were to ever re-advance, I wonder if those who are still in Gangnam will still be hanging out in coffeeshops or eating waffles and ice cream and driving their BMW as if all were okay. It's okay, NK is here, what do we do? I know, let's go shopping and blow our last paycheck on fashionable metrosexual attire... |

U.S. forces in Korea are the difference between "Assured Victory" and "Easier Assured Victory". The U.S. is here primarily for tripwire purposes and additional air power and C&C and recon. Low manpower, but big force multipliers. The Army and Marines would essentially be the spearhead of whatever major counter-attack would target the advance on Seoul. With them that spearhead is titanium. Without it, its merely tungsten or at worst, high-grade steel compared to N. Korea's bronze and iron. ( That's not to belittle the U.S. Titanium kicks butt) The other main thing the U.S. provides is the ability to rapidly secure and neutralize nukes/WMD in N. Korea should war break out/regime collapse.
Anyways, in the event the US left and N. Korea decided to attack, the big ally of S. Korea's would be China as it would promptly invade N. Korea and remove the regime to put a puppet government in place. The sheer number of Chinese residents (many of them university students and the only children of wealthy Chinese) and resources in Seoul means any attack by N. Korea would be an attack on Chinese interests.
How confident are you of the Great North Korean army dealing with invading S. Korea on one side and a million man march by the PLA to its north? |

Agree, there is no situation where NK takes over Asia. They make one move, they get crushed from all sides, and then they are over. They know that.
That's why all this fear-mongering, and "we are the defenders of the planet" is such a joke. Even NK + ISIS = NOTHING. |

Lol. Anyone with half a clue about the strategic situation and the amount of investment and people China has in S. Korea knows what China will do in the outbreak of war.
