He hasn't been deported. There is simply the possibility. The hearing is today. I'll bet (anyone want to bet me?) anything he doesn't get deported.
Federal immigration officials say they became aware of Crapser after he applied to renew his green card two years ago: his criminal convictions, ranging from burglary to assault, made him potentially deportable under immigration law.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement wasn't aware of Crapser's childhood adoption history when it decided to pursue his deportation, agency spokesman Andrew Munoz said.
U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, and Jeff Merkley, D-Oregon, are proposing a stand-alone, automatic citizenship bill for adoptees like Crapser. |

Right, he isn't deported (yet), but he is getting deported, unless they reverse their order.
You are 'guilty' unless proven 'innocent', not the other way around in these cases.
You'll probably win the bet, but, as so many things (it seems) in the US today, what a fiasco...for nothing. Sparkling!  |

Sometimes courts scare criminals with a threat (but don't act on that "possibility") to decrease the likelihood of crime happening in the future.
News is so damn negative.
Very very few Westerners adopt young kids from overseas and then abandon them.
This case is an anomaly.
And he's not going to get deported.
Since he is not, why is it worth discussing? |

He is likely to not be deported due to having children.
With his criminal records, maybe they are seeing a chance to get rid of one undesirable. |

| I think the most important information in the article is that Amricans have adopted around 500,000 children from other countries over the last sixty years. That's mind-boggling. And 100,000 of them have been Koreans. That is astonishing kindness. Instead of bashing the US over this case iy should be commended for its humanity in this field. |

Sopt on. Bashing the United States seems to be the chic / in vogue thing these days (at least among certain groups). Those during it thinks it makes them look sophisticated and enlightened (smarter than the 'Murican idiots), but really it doesn't. It just makes them look like the ignoramus fools who don't know what they are talking about they really are.
There are many good people in the U.S., both in government and in the general civilian population.
America in 2015 is a great country, one of the best to have ever existed. |

When people don't even realize there is a problem,.....what can you say?
Race relations are mocha, everyone's gainfully employed, civil society is peaceful and in good health, faith in the 'system', both local and federal, is at an all time high, and foreign relations are harmonious.
Great country, sky's the limit.  |

Nah. Don't deport him. (He stole cars, etc., but that is in his past.) Just let him know if he screws up again that might happen (even though it realistically won't). Scared straight and all that. Well played by the U.S. government.

I was teaching in public schools in the USA 15 years ago. No pledging of allegiance in any of the several schools I was teaching in. |
