PM Wylde he has many good one that are better than Kazaa. People seem to think Kazaa is the best one because thats the only one they know how to use. Speak to him about it. |

Why so cryptic? Making us search to find out what P2P software you are talking about...
Just tell us!
Ok...got it now. You WinMX devotee!! Actually, I use overnet, and the first link you gave only strengthened my resolve to stay with it.
I have never tried WinMX, so my statement isn't founded...i will give it a whirl this weekend.
I agree about bit torrent though... |

suprnova is pretty cool because you can get whole albums at a time. everything i got has been legit, none of that beeping sound in the middle of files that the record companies flood kazaa with. sometimes the files come compressed in .rar format. you can just get the program winrar to extract the files. also, a few times my music has come in .ogg files. i still have to get around to transferring them to .mp3 files since my player doesn't support them. |

is that why?
sure it says 10023 but you only have the option of downloading 285 of them..
winmx is a little tricky to configue but it smashes the others with search results.
www.suprnova.org is great but www.youceff.com is better for bit torrent files |

C'mon wylde...gimme more credit than that...a cut and paste doesn't convince me of anything. I could photoshop such a thing....
hundreds of gigabytes of successful downloads over a long, long period convinced me of Overnet.
Bit Torrent is good for newer files in my experience.
I will give WinMX a go this weekend. |

To be honest I found WinMX to be riddled with fakes and incomplete files. I really like the direct connect setup especially as I now have a few hubs that have people sharing the videos that I want. I usually use soulseek for my music as people on it seem more likely to have the rarer stuff that I am usually trying to download. That said it depends on what you want as most of my downloads are of very specific things (mostly mixed martial arts events and obscure breakbeat music). I will be a very happy bunny when the new DC++ comes out as its promising multi source downloads allowing for really quick speeds |

wylde... give us a bit more credit... that 285 is what is listed on the first search screen. Click the button and you get the next lot. You can, if you want church through all 10000 or whatever.
WinMX is good but slow. If I want a song in under a minute I use KazaaLite. It never fails. Sometimes I want a specific song for a specific purpose when I'm using music with video for example. Using WinMX is slower. Plain and simple. However, if I want movies or software, WinMX has more results that are bonafide. Kazaa's network is cram full of junk and fake files. WinMX less so.
Why use one when you can have the benefits of both? |

Which bit torrent client do you all use? I'm trying out azureus at the moment and it seems cool, but it's notifying me that I have a NAT error. So, I followed the instructions to open up the recommended ports, but am still getting the same error.
Now, my actual problem is that my downloads, while still pretty fast, could be even faster. I'm using XP Pro's built-in firewall, and McAfee Viruscan. I can't think of any other programs that would have any bearing on the situation. Any ideas? |

You have to download a program that will allow you to download the files from Torrent web sites. Torrents are completely different from Kazaa, No Adware, No Virus, and usually when they are put up they are what they exactly say they are (unlike Kazaa where its a gamble every time.)
The best torrent dowloader that I have found is here http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/
Now he will ask you to make a 'donation" You can simply say "no" and he will keep asking or you can say I have already made one and he will stop asking and they won't check up on it.
2. Go to www.suprnova.org and click on what you want to download.
Look closely at the address: there is no 'e' in the suprnova...there is actually a site called supernova.org...but you have to be a member. |
