That's really sad.

When I was at varsity clothes were just stuff to cover your naughty bits and make up was a tool of oppression over women kind.

My attuide has changed somewhat since then. Whether it's a product of leaving university/growing up/living here I don't know.

But I think grooming is about looking your best. Unless you've had a major disfigurement I really don't think that there's any need for plastic surgey. It's basically erasing all individual looks and faces with one created by a surgeons knives.

I'm sure this invitation for every guy on the board to post a pic of a cute asian girl declaring me wrong but there is no such thing as the perfect bod. We all have our own imprefections, and in a blink of an eye those looks start to fade anyway.

I happen to agree with you. I think Korean women who don't have the eye op done look much better. Natural oriental looking women are beautiful in their own right. I don't understand why some of the naturally best looking women I have come across see fit to alter themselves.

Because the world's biggest industry is dedicated to telling women (and now men) that there is something wrong with them so that they will buy their product in an effort to look better.

I've never heard of this before, sauna ajumma's performing operations? That's insane!

In fairness though I've heard stories of Botox parties in the US for the past few years now.

Has anybody here taken advantage of the competitive cosmetic surgery services in Korea? Is there a regulating body so you can check you're with a reputable surgery? How much? Botox? Chemical peel?

Bah~~~ Men, women, let's not make this a battle of the sexes, let's just do away with ugly people once and for all. With so many cosmetic surgeries everywhere at affordable prices, there will never again be an excuse to be ugly.

They used to say, 'every girl has the right to be ugly, but she just abuses the privlege' but nowadays, there isn't even an excuse to be ugly.

K-women must be about the dumbest on earth....or not so dumb....even blonds seem smarter!!!
Surgery...to look more pretty.... to get a rich husband! How vain?!
Why? For one thing...when K women wash the make up off...they are SCARY!! You will find very very few k women who look decent without makeup. But...these same women who get married....their husbands after a few years of marriage.... are down at the room salons, singing rooms and massage shops!! So...the good looks does not keep the husband faithful does it!?!
I would venture to say that upwards of 80-90% of korean men cheat on their wives.
I have worked with koreans for many many years....and over the years....no matter where I lived in korea...no matter what city...when I go out on the town with k men....most are married and usually all have cheated on their wives and tell me...."don't you say anything to my wife, ok!"
Even at the university I am at....we'll get a group of 10-15 other k teachers and go out. I have never ever yet seen a single one who did not go after another women for sex. Not a one. Including the president of the university. I have had ajumma classes and this subject has always come up...dating, etc...and it gets around to asking about being true you your spouse, etc. and most of the ajummas know their husbands are cheating but look the other way. It's accepted. For one thing...the ajummas will be out in the street after a divorce and no children, no house. Not always, but over 90% of the time. So...it's best to shut up and accept it.
Maybe these ajummas should be under the knife?!?!? Start losing weight, get rid of the child bearing marks, etc...and go out and meet a younger man!! Two can tangle!
And yes...it was what...last weeks article about sauna ajummas doing minor surgery as well?!?!? Injections?

Why do people care about what others do to/for themselves? It is their choice and it does not affect you.

That fan face woman that screwed herself up with her craziness makes me want to vomit, so sometimes it affects me. Having to see that freak Michael Jackson makes me shiver. Damn he's a monster now.

That being said, minor surgery that makes people feel good doesn't concern me in the least. I wish the Korean government would regulate doctors more, though. I guess their problems go further than unqualified teachers.
