I've been checking this forum for 6 months or so now (more reading than posting), and I'm starting to recognize some of the more enthusiastic posters. Who's the funniest?
My vote go for 'The Beaver' - great one-liners! |

Can we include clever? There are some posts I wouldn't read if not for some of these people...
Beaver, Itaewonguy, Jongnoguru all spring to mind. Sometimes whatthefunk.
This is my favourite post by the way:

This Starbucks is jammed, not a seat in the house, everybody's talking on their cellphones and just about everyone in here has fancy pants?
I thought Korea was experiencing a difficult economic moment? Looks to me like everyone is doing fine. Wow, look at that, those kids still have their school uniforms on, what day is this anyway? Saturday? Yeah, okay cool.
Maybe I should be careful when I make my order I had a lot to drink last night and the soju is still coursing through my veins. Okay , here's my moment.
"Regular coffee please"
"ang?"
"Sorry. I forgot my glasses and I can't read the sign"
"you want latte"
"yes!" thank you!" (what the f*** is latte?)
Oh my God I can almost see up that girl's skirt over there?
What is with all this sexy stuff? I think the plump took her Starbucks apron in a bit? Well it's cheap to do that here I guess.
Oh crap
"Sorry, Soju:
The young woman next to me is waving her hand and wincing.
"Last night soju" (chuckling)
Dude this is not the janitor at work, she is not getting a kick out of it.
Typical Starbucks moment. |

Itaewonguy is funny for his attitude.
I like Leslie Cheswyck. He always makes me laugh. Partly it's because I picture his avatar making the statement.
JongnoGuru is great.
I also like Pyongshin Sangja. Relentless. |

The funniest, huh... There are several who come to mind. Nobody's a full-time clown here (thank God). Many of you write very humourously... the Bobster and mindmetoo I like reading, for example... but generally in the context of making a broader point (and pulverising some debate opponent), so the funny bits don't and aren't intended to stand out as much as with the posters who are more notorious for the wisecracky one-liners.
Of the latter, yeah, I'd probably include the Beaver. Sparkx, too. Others who I'd place in or near those ranks are Pyongshin Sangja and Apple Scruff, whose Don Ricklesesque ascerbity and terse delivery may be an acquired taste for some, but I'm entertained. Perhaps a bit more than I should be, as I can imagine their "victims" get properly steamed at times. And, because PS and AS sometimes come off as so genuinely riled when they post that they might not appreciate the giggles they're provoking on this side of the screen.
I guess one reason the above make me snicker is that it's all "you hockey puck!/yo' mama!" insults aimed any & everyone. What I consider to be not funny -- and what I wish were confined to PMs -- are the frequent pissing matches and the snarky and (seemingly) out-of-the-blue swipes posters will take at others. These have little to do with the particular threads/posts at hand, and really all to do with some squabble they can't get over which took place on Dave's three years before I joined. That crap is boring not just because I don't know or care what the hell it's all about, but because it derails otherwise good, funny, and nearly useful threads.
Mith, thanks for the kindness. I don't think you're funny in any of the senses I've just described. But you're one of the most reliably interesting people to read, and I think that's just what you intend.
But I know I've left out a whole raft of people who should be included. They'll come to mind as the nomination process continues. |

Leslie Cheswyck and Sparkx make me laugh out loud.
JongnoGuru is entertaining, too.
Itaewonguy is funny like a cartoon character--think Yosemite Sam. (that's a compliment)
mithridates and kermo are just plain good reasons not to switch 100% to the other board. (though if the above crop all moved, I'd be gone too.) |

We must make two categories....
Those we laugh with.
and
Those we laugh at.
What about overt socks? There is something hilariious about those who continue to post eventhough everyone knows they are posting under/with a sock.
What about those that we laugh at the sadness of their seriousness of some topic....say, the world coming to the end?
What about those who end their posts with cheeky words?

Ok, you're included too...but for a reason you are most likely are unaware of.
How is it that you, the cut-and-paste king...could not cut-and-paste what I wrote?
