cool. ok. If you guys are looking for old school nes emulators (with every single game ever made on nes), go to:

http://vimm.net/

They have snes an genesis as well (i think these you have to pay for. The nes one's are free).

If you guys are looking for snes or Genesis emulators and games, go to:

http://www.emulatorworld.com/downloads.php?page=ViewCat&cid=508

I know it can get lonely and boring sometimes. I figured this may be of fun to some of you.

I will save the nostalgia for when I get to the age when I can't keep up with current states..

Honestly, I just find the direction things are going far more exciting than where they have been. Pitfall Harry vs. Neverwinter? Hmmm...tough one...

that's all well and good with most games, but i personally think that rpg's have gone down the tubes. i think they just forgot who they were selling to. even in their heyday, rpg's were boring games for most people. but the people who played them (like me) made a consious decision to walk around in the woods, wait for monsters to pop out of nowhere, and then fight them via choosing options from a menu. the option was always there to play games where you could press buttions to actively fight enemies that you could see coming at you in real time.
nowadays, the latest rpg's are essentially movies which require you to press a button every now and again in order to keep the movie going along. sure, they're very pretty, but a lot of the exploring and fighting has been scrapped. if i want to watch a pretty movie with crappy story and dialogue, i'll watch star wars episode one.
dragon warrior 1 vs. final fantasy 10? not a tough one for me.

by the way... i can't get the emulator to work. when i try to download a game, the whole window just closes. what am i doing wrong?

I totally agree. This seemed to begin (not that I would really know, but it's when I realized it) with KOTOR. The most boring "roll of the dice" method of combat....ruined the game.

Do you need emulation to play dragon warrior? Or any RPG that isn't a fossil?

Anyhow...I do speak of my favorite genre; action games....and they have done nothing but get better...From Wolfenstein 3D to Doom 3...
