I still like the guy who lit his car on fire and tried to drive it into the Korean parliament to protest the impeachment.

It's rather amazing how Koreans just can't accept their savior is a charlatan. Of course, lest one judge an entire nation, Peter Popoff was exposed on national TV and yet to this day he retains a following.

Yeah the suicide thing here is nuts. As if it will make a difference!

I encourage anyone who has similar ideas about commiting suicide for such trivial reasons to go ahead and do so.

We don't need such stupidity in the human gene pool.

Korea is the perfect place to set up shop if you are a cultist... say, does anybody know if Scientology sells franchises?

Well, I wouldn't say all Koreans can't accept he's a charlatan, but a few sure can't. Some people are just gullible...like the Americans who still believe there are nuclear weapons hidden somewhere in Iraq.

In America about 20% of the people will respond to "yes" to a survey question, regardless of what the question is: have you been kidnapped by UFOs, etc.

It's rather amazing how people can generalise the single psychology of a nation of over 40 million people to support an ego driven self delusional ideaology.

Did I say all Koreans? I don't know too many Canadians or French that are still banging his drum. Here let me SPOON FEED the obvious translation to you:

"It's amazing how [some] people [the vast majority of them citizens of ohhhhh fluk I dunno Korea maybe?] can't accept blah blah."

Learn to actually read, why don't you?

PS it's spelt "ideology", not "idea-ology".

Long time ago there was this Usenet kook named Bob Allisat. He was actually an ESL teacher in Toronto but you'd never notice it from the way he wrote online. Anyway, he was always biatching about some fat cat capitalist city councilor trying to rip off the good people of his crack-addled neighborhood of Parkdale. At one point he decided to run for city council. Since candidates are listed alphabetically, his name was at the top of the ballot: Allisat, Bob. Studies show that, without fail, 7% of voters simply vote for the first name on any ballot. Allisat got 4% of the vote. He was such a foul candidate that people actually went out of their way to educate themselves enough not to vote for the first name on the ballot.

It's amazing how a post about something happening in Korea will elicit a "But in the U.S....." response.

I object to the tone of glee in your posts to what "some " misguided members of a soceity will do. You did not quantify and you do seem to enjoy your feelings of grandeur that a canadian wouldn't do this.thanks for the spelling lesson, next could you teach me how to date a member of a nation whilst looking down on their countrymen, and finding glee in loss of human life be it americans or koreans.
thanks

Nice horse, but you talk funny. Interesting that- given many of the opinions on this board- you would single Mindmetoo out in particular for Korea-bashing (and then when asked to clarify you claim he wasn't being specific enough for you and you somehow perceived 'glee' in his posts Confused ).

I like it too.
If you're going to be an idiot and defend a charlatan, why not go out with a bang?
Vicious and wanton stupidity with a dashes of verve and elan- it appeals to my belief that there is no such thing as 'too absurd'.

But hey, if you think you've unmasked Mindmetoo as a secret kloset Corea-basher, well then more power to you, caped krusader.

you're post did not qualify your opinion, you stated how you cannot accept that koreans will not accept the guy is a charlatan, which quite clearly he is/was. I contend that the cases you cited are very limited and deserve qualification such as "i can't believe there are some crazy people who would do this". Let's face it your post inferred that a large number would go to these extremes, which they wouldn't. They are very isolated incidents and should be stated as such,
that's all I have to say,
please try not to retort with childish angry insults.
