Anyone flown to Toronto or Ottawa recently? I am trying to book a flight for Chuseok and it looks like the price is 1.8 million. I haven't flown to Canada in 2 years, is this price normal or is it jacked up because of Chuseok? |

The price is jacked up because it is peak season. (Chuseok)
Of course it is my contention that it is always peak season here. That is one of my least favourite things about Korea.
I wanted to fly to Vancouver for Chuseok and it was 1.7 million. 2,000 Canadian dollars for 5 days. |

What is the normal or off peak season price to Van? |

1.8 M won is the best price you're going to get to Toronto.
I just did that trip and that's what I paid.
Last year I paid 1.4 M won. You can blame the rising price of oil. |

Or maybe it's time to look into Korean Airline stocks. Oil is up but most other airline companies haven't increased their prices that much. Sounds like good old fashioned price gouging to me.

Last year I paid 1.7 and this year I paid 1.5 with the exact same airline and with the same date. That was too Toronto. Look for flights with Cathay Pacific. However, you would have to connect through Hong Kong. |

Seriously?
I got a direct flight with Singapore Airlines for 750,000 plus tax. |

I recommend Kangsan travel. After dealing with them, I won't deal with any other travel agents in Korea. Send them an e-mail or give them a call. |

Erin in Kangsan's Daegu branch is very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
If you don't live in Daegu, she can send you the tickets no problem.

I just booked return to T.O for 1.39million on Northwest. 2 stopovers, 2 hours in japan and 2 hours in detroit.
They have a special promotion on until Aug31, if you become a WORLDPERKS member and receive their promo emails. |

I was able to buy a non-stop return flight to Toronto for 1.4 million(all taxes included) with from Korean Air online. However, I am leaving a week earlier.
I was watching the prices online for a while and noticed that the prices fluctuated.
Good Luck!!! |

I think it's weird how screwy the prices can be. Tickets direct to Van via Air Canada are being quoted to me at like 1.5-1.6 by most travel agents. Why would I pay 1.6 to fly Air Canada when I can fly Singapore Airlines (a much much better airline) for almost half that price?
Anyways, xanadu and a few other Seoul agencies quoted me prices aboard Singapore Airlines that were several hundred thousand than what Kangsan quoted me.
It's all a joke anyways. Prices are getting higher and higher but profits never seem to go down. In fact, profits just keep going up. Gas prices in Canada are up to record highs at the same time that Petro Canada records record profits. Greed.... |

Hello all.
Are those return ticket prices you are quoting, or one way?
Thanks |

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
The best prices for flights is on www.whypaymore.co.kr
I just returned from a summer trip to Montreal and I paid 1.17 million won return - yes, that's not a typo, under 1.2mil.
Of course, I had to do the milk run, stopping in Tokyo and JFK with a few hours wait between flights. Also, I had to fly with American Airlines - the worst service I've ever gotten with an airline. Case in point, they gave us a cardboard box for our 1 year old baby which we had to put on the floor in front of us for the whole flight from Japan to JFK (12 hours!)
That being said, I've yet to hear of a better rate. |
