Time to bump this two year old thread.
I recently moved and now have an oven. This of course led me to try out my now rusty culinary skills. The result is below. Tonight I feasted on roast chicken.
Considering this is the first time I've had an oven or roasted a chicken in 11 years, it turned out pretty damn good. The stuffing needs a little work, but that's about all. This chicken was 1.33kg and took 1 hour to cook.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.
not quite cooked yet
basting with an olive oil and spice mix
carrots and potatoes
stuffing - stale bread, 2 types of mushroom, onions, carrots, eggs, milk & various spices
cooked meat - very moist and juicy

Superhero, are you in Korea? That looks so very good.
If in Korea, how do you get an oven?
I am fixing to go get some baked lasagna at a foreigner bar if any is made up tonight.
I cook spaghetti and fry things with my pan and make PB&J sandwiches for the most part which I am getting burned out on so I am not cooking as often now days. |

Yeah I'm in Korea. If you're apartment is big enough just buy an oven. They can be had for 300,000 to 600,000 at any department store or big mart (homeever, homeplus, emart etc..) Before this I wasn't in an apartment that was big enough, but I just moved and the apartment comes with an oven built right into the kitchen counter. |

Dam, Superfly, there is no bones about it, those bones looks mighty tasty. I bet we could boil those and suck the mushy bone marrow out of them. |

Superhero - looks good.. chicken looks a tad undercooked, though... don't they say that you shouldn't eat chicken when it's still pink on the bone these days?

Welcome to the oven-owners club, SuperHero. Your roast chicken looks great.
I'm eating my home-made pizza as I type. (Alsatian sausage, onions, garlic, black olives, green bell pepper, mushrooms and those hot little Thai red peppers in a jar). |

Last night was a Canadian Thanksgiving feast at my place with about 14 people in attendance. We had an 18lb (8kg roughly) turkey, and all the sides, which included:
- apple sausage stuffing (some done in the turkey, some done outside)
- mashed potatos with sour cream and cream cheese in the mix
- sweet potato casserole
- green bean and carrot casserole
- potato salad
- green salad
- biscuits
- sweet corn
- gravy
- cranberry sauce
- pumpkin pie
- cherry cheesecake
etc.
Tonights dinner..... leftovers!!!! |
