YOu went to Texas Tech? I have heard they throw tortillas for touchdowns. Don't know if it's true, so don't get upset about it.  THat is way up there. A lot of people from my high school went to Tech.
Yea, but it was a bs year for the Longhorns. Not the same without Vince Young and just loser referees. I couldn't believe I was watching excited aggie fans saying that they won that night. (so funny they think they won, I almost wanted to crack up in front of them.) I'm thinking that they didn't win, they got lucky they had a retard referee on their side.
Well, I was glad that OU went to playoffs instead of aggies(aggies should've been crushed by the Longhorns and for them to go to playoffs , truly would've been a joke ), but OU surprisingly lost to some tiny school. I was actually hoping they'd win for the first time, since they already lost against the longhorns and if they loose, that would make the other teams they've lost against look a little weak. That was a good game though. Going into overtime and kept tying, that's happened to almost everyone last year. I thought it was cute that they even made it to the playoffs being such a tiny school compared to OU or UT, and they won surprisingly. And one of the players proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend, she said yes, how cute.
I started liking OU after the Longhorns of course, because when I've talked to a lot of them in Dallas, they always seem to be positive, happy, and generally seem to be really nice people. Maybe it's because they're so happy to be in Dallas since they complain they don't have any nice or big places like Dallas back at home. |

Yes, I'm a TTU alum. TTU students do many, many things during games. Some traditions are naughty, not nice . At least they stopped that half or fully naked crowd surfing crap after they restructured the student section a few years ago.

I own a house in Austin...lived there 18 years. I have a storage unit full of my stuff there. I'm definately going back, but right now I'm really enjoying Seoul. I love that, in Seoul, I can get anywhere without having to drive and the economy is inexpensive.
Austin used to be laid back, hip and clean, but too many people found out about it, moved there and made it more conservative, expensive and polluted.
I'm also not missing the endless sinus problems that disappeared within a week of arriving in Seoul. I never had alergies growing up, but after you live there a while, it's unavoidable.
What I miss about Austin... blue bonnets, warm weather, Barton Springs, hippie potlucks, my pickup truck (I like to drive sometimes), the politics, hill country, hike and bike trail, and my friends. |

| I lived there for 13 years-Dallas/Ft Worth area. People are nice, but everything else sucks swampwater. |

Went to middle school and high school in Abilene...
Went to college in Commerce (East Texas)
Lived in Dallas for a couple of years....great city. I miss lower Greenville Avenue, hanging out at The Ole Crow, The Beagle, The Boarsnest...and Snuffers.
The only things, are the heat and lack of good public transportation. Well, they do have the DART now, but I don't know much about it.
I miss it.

| Yea , Dart goes all the way up to Plano or The Colony. Maybe it's just Plano. But I do miss being in Dallas riding the subways and buses. Wish it was like that everywhere. |

Well, I admit to mnot reading all the posts on this thred, but my hubby and I (who are moving to Daejeon in 4 weeks) just bought 8 acres in the Texas Hillcountry. Beautiful forests and hills, the river is 1 mile away, and our town is on the outskirts of a rich folk city, meaning that we can pay low taxes in Ingram and get the great amenties of Kerrville.
The question isn't if you would live in Texas, ti's why live anywhere else?
Ok- I would probably live in CA if it didn't cost an arm and a leg... |

Wow- the Hill Country. I've met so many wonderful people from that area. Southern Virginia and the Carolinas are also nice places. |

Maybe you are thinking about Dallas and Houston. There's plenty to see and do in Texas, and plenty of places to live. You can choose almost any style of living. |

El Paso is a hole. The "proximity" to Mexico is really a "proximity" to the most violent cities in Mexico.. Juarez. Very crappy place.
I'm from Houston originally. If I were to live in Texas, I'd probably live in the Texas Hill Country around Austin.. But Houston's the third/fourth largest city in the US (dependening on how you measure) and it has the benefits and drawbacks of any big city. Austin is full of communists, but it's a nice enough place. Dallas people wear too much makeup and are distinctly more snotty than other Texas places..
