Who does the clearest version of 'All I Really Want To Do'? I'd like to use it in class sometime for a fun lesson in rhymes.

That would be bob dylan, boy. |
Bob sucks. The Byrds' version is best. |

He's made his share of bad albums (maybe more than his share), but i don't want to think of a world without Visions of Johana and Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands. |

Wow! Good call. Those two songs are in my Dylan Top 5. And that's a tough Top 5 to get into. |

The Portugese covers of David Bowie in "The Life Aquatic". Better than the original is a stretch, but still worth a listen.
The Grateful Dead doing "Visions of Johanna", "It's All Over Now Baby Blue." Also Jerry Garcia's band doing "Positively 4th Street." Dylan could be better or worse doing these, depending on how drunk he is.
Ray Charles doing "You Are My Sunshine." Charlie Parker doing "Embraceable You."
If you haven't seen it, this truly bizarre cover of Fergie's "My Humps", done by Alanis Morrisette. It's hypnotic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W91sqAs-_-g |

Now you're just making stuff up. |
Nope, they did do a cover. It's on the Schoolhouse Rock Special 30th Anniversary Edition DVD. |

| I just found Paul Mulvey and Anita Suhanin doing "For No One" waay better than the Beatles. But then, I'm ambivalent when it comes to Paul songs. |

Haven't read all 8 pages, so I don't know if this has already been mentioned. But here's a case where I DON'T think the cover was better than the original, yet I seem to be in the minority at least as far as YouTube goes. What about Dave's?
It's Tears for Fears' Mad World performed originally by Tears for Fears and covered by Gary Jules.
(compare the music, not the videos)
I like both versions, but I really couldn't say the cover is better (as so many others have). They're almost two different songs. |
