Sheer chutzpah that you lead with an ad hominem then come back and play martyr. Rather than falling for what people say about Pipes, hook, line and sinker, I'm weary of anyone who seeks to create an orthodoxy within universities, that is not what the academy is all about. Check out his site and you will see there is a list of 'approved' academics on it, i.e. people prepared to tell the Israel-Palestine story the way he sees fit. If that is not redolent of a kind of stifling of ideas, I don't know what is. Spastic.

If this had any shred of truth whatsoever you would be supporting the campus watch people.....you think there is not an orthodoxy in MESA now???

As for playing the martyr..well I didn't write several lines about your mother now did I?

Jag, in a free society, Pipes may write what he wants and 'approve' or not of whoever he wants. It is only when he attempts to use the power of the state, as does Horowitz, to enforce his ideas that there is anything to worry about.

And seriously, the university in the West is an institution of profound orthodoxy.
