I am thinking of bringing my Costco card to Korea as I am already on a membership. I don't have a Samsung credit card but will I be able to just purchase with cash there? Are there atms onsite? Is there a Costco in or close to Seoul?

Costco car wash is great. $7.99 and everything shines, tires look great. Gas is a bit cheaper as well.

There are different Costcos around Seoul; so where will you live? If you know then someone can advise you which location is closest for you.

I quite like the Yeungdeung po location. I went to Yangjae, and it just seems to crazy and crowded for me. Yeungdeung po is not that much better (still pretty busy) but it seems to have everything Yangjae does. If I'm wrong, lemme know.

On the onions topic, I thought it strange K's loaded up their plate with it. But upon closer examination, they mix it with mustard and pile it onto their pizzas or chicken rolls. It becomes a topping or a dipping sauce for them. I mean, I love onions but this seems extreme....

I have photographic evidence that this is not true. They do take big old bites of onion.

Perhaps the people you saw were being polite or something. Wink

Yeah, I think there's a lot more direct chowing down than there is using the onions as a condiment.

this may have been answered already but im looking into signing up for a costco membership. I noticed that in Korea my American Express is marked as a "Samsung card", does my US american express card work there then?

My fiance works for Costco and she told me that they planning to start accepting regular American Express cards, but they haven't started yet. For now, it's still just Samsung cards.

Well tell her to tell them to start accepting VISA cards, domestic and foriegn. I hate having to go to the ATM when the final tally is more than the money I have in my wallet. It's a real pain in the a$$!

They have a lot of frozen foods but I've never seen TV dinners there. In the frozen section they do have frozen burgers, fries, pizza, hash browns, hot wings, chicken nuggets, seafood, vegetables, and ice cream. Go with someone and take a look around.

I bought a hot dog at Costco about two weeks ago. The onions were out. I tried asking for more onions, but my Korean is poor. The cashier was giving me an impatient look, because the line was long.

I pointed at the hot dog, then the onion dispenser. Hot dog, onion dispenser. I was getting nowhere fast, so I ate my dog with only mustard.

As I took the last bite, the cashier filled the onions Mad

What do you need to join CostCo? Do I need my Alien Card?

Also, what can you get there that you can't get in Homeplus etc?

I'm from Ireland so I'm not familiar with CostCo. Thanks.
