It takes absolutely no faith to say that there is no God. LOOK AROUND! WHERE IS THIS BEING? |
I had a good point to make, but as a friend just told me, "ignore it. Do you really think that forcing a view down a persons throat will make it any more palatable because you believe it".
I just now came aware that it does also relate to the above view, (not a personal attack, deconstructor) just a view about the above statement. I have heard it before from different voices before and it is a view that people want me to believe just as much as I would like others to understand my views.
Maybe the best thing I can offer the world today, is the view that we can agree to disagree without personal, violent or other kinds of attacks on others who share this world. Maybe living as such can help continue that message. Maybe? |

If this world stands a chance it will be only the day after the death of institutional religion and conservatism, the day after the death of God, the day after our infancy, at the dawn of new humanity.
Until then, abandon every hope, ye who enter here. (And I don't mean dave's!)

Breathing is the leading indicator of whether-or-not the body is still inhabited by a soul. Duration of life is predetermined. The exact number of breaths an individual spirit-soul will have in a particular body is determined by karma from the previous life. The only way duration of life can be extended is by slowing down the breathing process through mystic yoga. An advanced yogi can survive on a few breaths a day - and live for many hundreds of years. (obviously extremely rare in this age...) If one's life is somehow cut short before the karmically-set number of breaths, that soul must take an extra birth in a similar bodily-type and family situation and live out its remaining breaths (like a prison sentence ...)
There are many different scenarios of what can happen after death of the gross body. The Vedic view is that the subtle body carries the spirit-soul to its next destination - in another material or spiritual body.
Of course, voidists think that NOTHING happens ... Impersonalists think we all spiritually merge as ALL ONE GOD (like the label of Dr. Bronner's soap) and lose our individual identities...
Personalists think that we maintain individuality eternally in spiritual bodies linked to the infinite supreme spirit who is maintaining all infinitessimal spirit-souls eternally... |

Then maggots make their appearance. I always thought I was good enough to eat. |

According to a mystic, in my past life - I was born in North Africa somewhere around 1425. I was a farmer or a tailor. I looked forward to my reincarnation, yada yada.
My question is, why did it take so long for my soul to get into another gig again?
Thanks in advance...good stuff. |

Mystics are great, aren't they. Who's your regular mystic? I'll show you ours...
We used to listen to this mystic
but she said my wife's possible pasts were beyond her skills and referred us on.
To this mystic
You gotta search long and hard to find a good mystic these days. |

This is correct. After that, the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, the worms play pinochle on your snout. They eat your eyes, they eat your nose, they eat the jelly between your toes. |

Spiritual realization begins when we no longer identify with the material body which is just a bag of bones, bile, blood, stool and mucuous and other gross stuff as our real self. Of course, while we are still living we need to try to maintain good health, but when our time is up, or when the body is no longer a fit place for the soul to dwell within it, the spirit-soul moves on to its next destination, and the body is practically worthless bunch of chemical garbage (better to cremate it and throw the ashes in the ocean or a river...) |
