Not that I would buy into anyone's economic wizardry here, but understand it may not be his fault. Even economists with PhDs can't predict what will happen in the short run.

Economics is great when it comes to theory but absolutely terrible when it comes to timing. Sometimes ya wins. Sometimes ya loses.

For the sake of humanity I hope you're joking around.

Anyways I see it around 1300 for a while and have been passing money back and forth between here and home for a while at about this rate...

Surely you don't...make your financial decisions based on the comments on this board?! This isn't, uh, a source for sound financial advice...?!

Oh dear. Dear, dear, dear.

On a related note, I'm considering major surgery tomorrow, which thread should I check out?

Damn it, now KEB is selling won for 1313. Is this increase related to NKs saber rattling and brat-like behavior? Did we miss the window to sell a few ago?

Okay so this guy at my work says to me, "The US Dollar is gaining strength vs. the Won and will continue to do so over the course of the next few years." Well, he didn't EGG ZACHARY say that, because he can't speak English that well!

BTW - this is the same guy who lost ALL of his money and went COMPLETELY bankrupt a few years ago and lost everything his wife & kids had. Now he's trying to give financial advice to everyone. Typical Korean "let's try to teach everyone something when it's obvious that I'm a moron" attitude.

Anyway... has anyone heard this? Is it true? Are we going to lose more money? It's currently at 1,279 won or something per USD. I want it to get better for ME. Sorry to say that (folks back home) but I've got to keep it real.

You listened to the wrong genius. I'm up a 30 acre farm and all the infrastructure (since last september?) and getting out.

Ok, ok, I did miss a couple of peaks, but for the most part, I met buy and sell targets.

It's TOMORROW, so current events of course.

Hey everyone. I have a question here that maybe you could help me out with. I'll be starting a job in Ilsan for 2.7M. I'm pretty happy with that, BUT with the way things are looking its only worth about $2100 US. I do have the options to be paid in US dollars....though the offer is $2000/month. If the dollar/won continues this downward spiral, I would want to take payment in USD. BUT if it gets better, I could be making a decent amount. What would you do?

As a side note, I have a hefty loan payment I'll have to be making in USD.

Thanks!

Perosnally, and what I wrote above about being a genius was a joke, I would go with Won. I think, with absolutely no foundation to think so, that we are at the upper end of the Won slide. It might go 1350, it might not. I am much more confident that it will get stronger in the long run than weaker.

You seem really desperate to prove your point, and - uh, I don't think it's going to happen.

I'm not all that knowledgeable about technical analysis, but what is this "Fibonacci retracement" that they talk about in the article?
