I figure the finger printing is all part of the fun. Anyone else forget their blood type when filling in the form.

I was also fingerprinted at Immigration. I was mildly surprised but did whatever they asked. It didn't bother me.
Though I was rubbing that red ink off my thumb for a 20 minutes afterwards. |

| I walked out after Korean immigration insisted that I had to give them my finger prints. Nobody has my finger prints on file, not even the Canadian government so why should I give them to the Korean government? I feel that my finger prints are personal and that I shouldn't have to give them up unless I have committed a crime |
Oh, spare me.
It's no wonder we waeguk-in get such a bad reputation.
I suggest you shut the *beedeepbeep* up, go back, beg forgiveness, and give 'em your freakin' prints.
Have you never left your parents' basement before? Welcome to the real world, kiddo.
Edit : OK, that was a little harsh. Perhaps you were just having a bad day. We all do. And there might have been a time when I was wet enough behind the ears to actually get my back up about something like that too, I suppose. Nonetheless, my advice to go back and beg forgiveness, claiming misunderstanding or the old 'cultural difference' or PMS or somebloody thing stands. |
That was way more than harsh. Just because I would rather not give my fingerprints to somebody suddnely I am just a stupid kid? I'm sorry if I offended you by thinking that my fingerprints are private. I also don't appreciate the PMS comment, really why is it that guys figure that women turn into monsters once a month? When I go back I don't think I will have to beg forgiveness, they don't have any of my papers and are not likely to remember me. |

| The fingerprints were no problem it was that body-cavity bit that disturbed me. |

Ok, all you spineless wonders can shut the hell up now. I want my prints back! Now! And the government agrees with me!
No More Black Fingers (2003.05.22)
by Bang Hyun-cheol ([email protected])
Most foreigners no longer need to have their fingerprints on record at the Immigration Office, the Justice Ministry said Thursday.
The fingerprint "seal" system for foreigners has been abrogated, the ministry said, although the formal procedures for changing the related law remain to be carried out. The system collected fingerprints of all foreigners over 20 years old who have stayed in the country for more than a year as well as foreigners whose fingerprints are needed for investigations, national security reasons or the interests of the Justice Ministry.
Now only foreigners who are security risks or are under investigation will be required to provide fingerprints. The revised bill will be presented at the regular National Assembly sessions in the fall. |

Er, cause they do?
Also, I didn't even know you were a woman when I made the comment, but I do apologize if that crack upset you. I still think it's infantile to get het up about something like this, but that's my prerogative.
Still, if the law has been abrogated if not revised as Pyongshin Sangja quotes above, I guess you are in the right here, and I withdraw my snarkitude. |
