Definetely Colbert would, he's practically a household name. I almost joined that facebook group myself just for fun.
Ron Paul has no chance because he strongly contradicts where the powerful within the Republican Party want to take the Republican Party. The media which half of the time doesn't include him in their polls and don't consider him as a candidate doesn't help much either. In other words, he has about a 0.001% chance of getting the nomination. It would have to be a miracle.
That doesn't mean people aren't going to really like the guy.
Regarding this 'internet frenzy' on him that so many reporters remark about. HOWARD DEAN had the exact same frenzy this time four years ago. He was incredibly well-connected on the internet, I'm surprised no one makes those kinds of references in the media anymore. Perhaps because Dean lost so badly after the 'Dean Scream', but before that happened, he was very popular online in particular. |
