Military expansion/Military empire=Good for Military Industrial Complex

no war/no expansion=bad for Military Industrial Complex

No America in Korea=war??? hahahahaha.

No American forces in Korea means the US has more money to buy weapons - cause less money is spent keeping forces overseas. Get it?

Each dollar spent on US forces in Korea is one less dollar that the US gets to spend on weapons.

Soliders need stuff like PX's and movie theatres and health care. When the US spends money on such items it has less money to buy F-22s.

IF you wanted to threaten other nations or support the " military industrial complex" which would you rather have land locked soldiers in Asia or more destroyers?

So when do we hear that Ron Paul can also walk on water?

We haven't been told that particular one yet, but we have been told he will save the country. I don't worry so much that he is going to stroll across Lake Michigan. More power to him if he can.

What worries me is that RP is the kind of guy who ultimately ends up asking his followers to drink green Kool-Ade. And they do it.

Screw him making his magnificent entry into the city from the lake. I'm waiting for him to turn water into wine. Free Boos! Woo Hoo! Very Happy

Why don't you focus your disdain for the real evil-doers

I guess I could say that when I've expressed my disdain for RP and the conspiracy theorists that have infested this board recently, I've pretty well exhausted my fund for the day. That isn't to say that I like what the neocons have done. As Kuros said perfectly well, I've already expressed how I felt about them and their deeds over the years.

My country has a whole range of problems that need to be addressed. I felt the Clinton adminsitration was beginning to make headway on some of them. The Bush administration has not only failed to maintain that progress, it has aggravated most of them, created some new ones and has made dealing with all of them much more difficult. Nothing RP has said makes me think he has any viable answers. I do not think turning the clock back to ca 1850 is the solution to anything. I think it's a distraction, not a solution. RP is an ideologue, and we've had enough of that with the neocons. As I said above, RP is the kind of leader that will eventually ask his followers to drink green Kool-Aid. No thank you.

For some unknown reason, you seem to think that only RP is for the Constitution. I will grant you that the members of the Bush administration need a refresher course in constitutional law and human rights. That does not mean that all the other candidates do. (I include the Republicans with the Democrats. The neocon crowd is an anomoly.)

it's funny how people think that returning to a gold standard is an "18th century" idea... since when did the year that someone thought of something make it a bad idea? gravity is an old idea, so let's get rid of it, too!

also: i think that the people of south (and north) korea need to seriously consider the DETAILS of bringing the peninsula together again... why does everyone talk about reunification like it's an all or nothing deal? why can't there be a regular border, with two separate countries! they could issue travel and working visas, and open up communication between the north and south, and eventually bring the standards of the north up to par with the south...

many of my conversations lead me to believe that south koreans really DON'T want to open up the border... they say koreans will 'lose jobs' to northern workers - WTF?! they already have to use foreigners to work the 3-D factory jobs, so why can't those foreigners be from north korea? the korean rhetoric for reunification is nothing more than empty words, IMO, and i'm sick of it!
