When is it switching to the Latin Alphabet? Is it only Kazakhstan? Or some of the other Stans as well? |
I think it's supposed to start switching over next year but I haven't seen exactly what kind of alphabet they're going with. I *think( the main debate is between whether they should use Turkey's Atat�rk-type alphabet and be easier to read for people from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, or go with one like the one used now in Uzbekistan without diacritics, which makes it easier to type (machinability). |
