| While it's tempting to stereotype Korean men as primates with cellphones, I'll resist it for now. But when did spitting in ashtrays here become acceptable behavior? Hey, I'm using that ashtray, for ash purposes. Now I'm thoroughly grossed out . |

Especially when shy 'princesses' do it without batting an eyelid. Moments like when you see that for the first time are precious, giving rise to genuine culture shock, part of what you sign up for - without really knowing what you're letting yourself in for - when you go travelling.
