If you do take the motorcycle, do yourself a favour. Wear the helemet, and what ever else you can to be safe. I have been there over 6 times in the country in the last two years. and, in the south, but have seen and read of to many accidents happening with tourists riding motorcycles. Besides, the cops see you, they will pull you over, even if the Thai's are driving without a helmet, and get a bribe from you.  )
Even my Thai friends are not comfortable with the dangers of riding motorcycles. Which to me is funny and sad, as this is a country that is motorcycle heaven with it's temperatures and scenery to me.
Enjoy the place it is a great there. |
