Koreans often seek comparisons with European people. I've heard the Japanese referred to as like the English (colonizers) and China (and Chinese) like the Roman Empire and Latin respectively.

I do not believe for one second there is a significant anti-semitic feeling in Korea.

Funny, because Korean (including Asian-American) being compared to Jewish was in fact the product of American media. As in Korean-American (Asian-American) are "new Jewish" for their academic ability, and yada, yada and yada. Just watch "60 minutes" show back in 90's and Doonesbury cartoons and you will know what I mean.

Koreans themselves also compared them to Italian for their "hot, impatient temper"
And to Netherland for their geographic location where it is stuck between powerful countries (Netherland in this case, France, Germany and UK).
And Irish for love of alcohols.
etc...

Its doubly funny how Koreans suddenly became "Anti-semitic" after few drawing of cartoons.

I don't think it's antisemitism so much as telling of their profound ignorance of anything not-Korean.

One thing I've learned about Korean nationalists is that many are anti-Jew/Israel (anti-Semitic is a stupid world because arabs are semetic peeople as well)

Do y'all remember that one Korean troll a while back who kept posting David Duke quotes to support his views against the jews?

I know this one Jewish girl. She gets good grades and comes from a family that's pretty well off.

Funny, because Korean (including Asian-American)

Surely you mean "Asian-Americans (including Korean-Americans)"?

What was the "yada yada yada"? Academic ability alone is a feeble comparison to Jews.

No matter where the claims come from, Koreans, I have witnessed at least, compare themselves to Jews - both grossly exaggerating their oppression by the Japanese and achievements as a people.

Quote:

That's where the similarity ends, I'm afraid. Italy is world-renowned for its beautiful cuisine, architecture and culture. Korea on the other hand.....

Quote:
And to Netherland for their geographic location where it is stuck between powerful countries (Netherland in this case, France, Germany and UK).

Again, no other similarities whatsoever and the fact that Koreans take a tiny aspect of a European country and apply it to themselves would be something I'd be really opposed to if I were Korean.

There are some similarities between Ireland and Korea, but a major difference is that the Irish are admired all over the world for their jovial culture.

I find it remarkable that people will spend time and energy critizing cartoons for being anti-semitic when in the same community there are at least two regular posters who have expressed pretty much the same views repeatedly. (I see that one of them just couldn't restrain himself)

While the comics themselves are pretty depressing, how can you take a blog seriously that says this:

The experience the South Koreans have of the Jews is completely non-existent, so why this growing hatred?

We can think of two reasons:
1) The lunatic left
2) Extremist Islam

This is precisely what happens when the money of the extremists, their lunacy and the lies of left-wingers are allowed to spread unchallenged.

The lunatic left wing of Korea is responsible for this? Rrrrrright.

I noticed that too. It's kind of depressing that idiotic cartoons are being criticized by people just as idiotic.

What really pisses me off is when you say you support the Palistians and people call you anti-semitic(spl) or that you hate Jews.

Or that you make a reference to Jews being greedy and the same thing happens.

Both the Jews and Palistians are shooting themselves in the foot.

I wish they would all just die really. Screw them all. Apart from the people who just get on with their lives and don't care about religious differnece.
