In hindsight, I pulled the trigger way to early. While 5.65% is good, I could have saved $$$ had I waited till Jan or Feb 2008.
I don't think US mortgage fixed rates 15,30 have bottomed out. I see rates dipping as low as 5.125% ..... |
Did you go with Atlanta or Miami? |

Still undecided to be honest ...
Biscayne Blvd has some sweet condos and lofts that are in the 1250 sq ft range but the HOA dues are retarded ... like $1k plus a month.
ATL is no longer on my radar given the major meltdown in San Diego. There are deals to be had right now in Downtown SD and local brokers are hungry for business.
I need to find a second home in a 2nd tier city with 1st tier infrastructure that's super friendly tax-wise to sole proprietors/S Corporations.
I see you're reppin Hawaii, what would $400k get me right now on Oahu or Kona? |

I'd love to live in Hawaii, but I don't see that happening. You wouldn't get a house for 400K. Last I looked, you'd get maybe a 2-bdrm condo for 400K. Possibly 3-bdrm if you looked around enough. You wouldn't get a house. But I'm just a passive (yet often) observer online only.
I didn't realize that San Diego had dropped that much. Like nearly everyone else, I really like that city a lot.
If you are looking for S-Corporation, etc. How about Nevada? I like Las Vegas. It has a lot going for it, more than people generally think. Well, they have tons of cheap flights to nearly anywhere and the housing market is so much lower than California. |
