The bar in question is the "Roo Bar" on walking street, a popular antipodean hangout. I watched NZ in a one day cricket match there over xmas. The bar is a craphole and i found the "jack tar bar" on soi 6 to be a much better place to get my fill of cricket and rugby and if you get bored, well, there's always the "scenery".

Itaewon on the beach?, i wish itaewon was half as entertaining.

there's racism all over the place and it's high time we just accept it for what it is and stop trying to perpetuate the foolish notion that any society can actually attain some phoney baloney homogenous, harmonious means of existence. i say let the cards fall where they may.

I don't know about that.

Suppose you saw a young girl of a particular race or religion being gang raped and beaten. The country you are in is known for looking down on women of that particular race/religion. Would you just shrug and say let the cards fall where they may?

Where does responsibiltiy begin and end? There is a precident and a charter of human rights. I say peoples rights have to be respected everywhere regardless of country.

I myself would beat the ass off of anyone who tries to strip me of mine Idea

Being gang-raped is a violation of one's most basic human rights. Being barred from a girlie bar is not.

Hey, go to Japan - businesses all over Japan openly post signs saying, "White People Stay Out - Japanese ONLY!" This is not uncommon in Japan.

Actually it's really uncommon. So uncommon that unless you've surfed around around debito's web page, you probably couldn't find one if you tried... There are only a few in the whole country, and most of those aren't in Tokyo (except for yakuza owned sex clubs in kabukicho, but those aren't really 'legal' anyway).

Saudi Arabia et al has a great big "No Church" sign over its country but I understand its politically correct for them to do so. Ya ya I'm making waves again, I'm supposed to do what I'm told etc. You know what? *uck off!
