Hey, stop stealing Rapier's (really) old material! But if you must, at least steal the whole routine. As I recall, it went something like...

White women who complain about local men asking if they're Russian are secretly boasting. Behind all their gasping indignation, they actually regard it as quite the compliment. And if they don't, they should!

If people try to guess my nationality it's usually Russian 50% of the time. Up that to 95% on Texas Street. I'm not sure what that means for a guy though.

One of my students told me it was a compliment. Russian women are thought to be slim while American women aren't....

A Ukrainian friend who is rather thin and blonde has a friend who is somewhat overweight and people assume sometimes that she is American and her overweight Russian friend is American.

As far as what peppermint that it's only drunk ajosshis that ask women if they are Russian, that isn't true. I know this girl from New Zealand who gets asked that by sober guys including a tax driver who pointed to his private part and asked the question. I am serious.

I think asking the person if he is Japanese in response is hilarious:)

I find that "An-yo...Hang-guk saram!" really stops them in their tracks! The expressions on their faces are priceless!

I WAS once asked if I were Russian by a WOMAN!!! Wonder what THAT was all about! Shocked

My friends get it sometimes because they're blonde. They keep going "You're so lucky you don't go through this." It's kind of irksome, considering I've heard, "Hey, ching chang--want to love me long time??" for the past decade or so whenever I go somewhere. Racism from Koreans, racism from Americans--great.

How could any Korean get such an idea?

Next time I am taking the right turn walking from Itaewon Station 3 to What the Book and that smoking hot Korean juicygirl/pro in the white coat says hi to me again, I am going to ask her if she's Russian.

It's true, The Dude, it's true.

I've been asked if I'm Russian, Uzbeki, and Indian recently...and I look like none of those.

Funny story....My husband and I took a taxi and the driver asked if I was from Uzbekistan. My husband explained, no, she's from Canada. The typical oh, so pretty, bla bla. The taxi driver went on to say how ugly Easy Asians are compared to Caucasians...he actually rambled a long time about it -- very passionately. Different perspectives I guess! Funny taxi ride...

Love the comebacks!!

Yeah, it does piss me off too. Always seems to be the leery adjosshis or taxi-drivers who ask with a wicked smile.

Shopping in Busan last year, I had 2 Russian guys come up to me and start talking in Russian... Embarassed
