Maybe you should tell the OP.

He started this thread asking for advice and I was kind enough to give him my opinion, rather than just rolling my eyes and telling him to use the search function.

But hey, if that's your way. Confused

What a friendly forum you make it seem......... Sad Sad Sad

I think it was aimed more at the fact that there are already 3 threads regarding vista on the first page. The pros/cons of vista has been discussed in depth

My...how insightful. I'm sure your in-depth analysis with unqualified high-school parlance will sway the masses.

Strategies that may work in off-topic serve no purpose here. Trolls who flip off about Mac vs. PC or Vista vs. XP (two of the few techtrolls) should really take it outside.

Then again, who would want to qualify "donkey wad"? It may be far too revealing.

There's a hack for Crysis that makes it work on DX9? Oh, that's funny.

I use XP and have no plans to update to Vista purely because there is nothing that I want to do that XP doesn't allow me to.

No! Don't get him started! Shocked

Demo's worse than a mac-fanboy when it comes to Vista. Wink

The world hates it, but Demo (and about 2 others on this board) love it. That's it.

Regardless, I think I'm going to try it dual-booted with my XP this weekend...see how many problems I have.

@ temporary: you paid for it...that's your fault. Show me where MS promised something that is not currently available.

@ hanguker: Its true I am enjoying Vista. I am not a "power user"...I like computers on a level that (I believe, but perhaps I am deluded) not many people are. Vista is exciting and if you are really interested in thing on a micro level, it is quite interesting.

MS bashing is easy; its hard to like Windows on many levels, so I will take the road less traveled. Wink Do you think I am out of mind? Not savvy? Don't know what I am on about? Lying when I extol the virtues of Vista? Think what you like, but I am none of the above and Vista (64-bit) is a good OS.

@ temporary (again): The name says it all. Anyhow, use the search function if you want to know what I know about the subject and how I "feel".

Why should you explain yourself? Well, if you don't, you come off as another opinion-fed internet lightweight. (I was too, so I know well) Maybe you don't care about that and that's fine. Keep recycling things you have read, though why you won't believe what I and others wrote is strange.

I am telling you from using it for almost 2 months now that what you say is all wrong. I have a feeling you need some education.

Hey Demo. I'm officially trying Vista 64. Looks good so far. Not as slow as I expected. However, I am having some...glitches. Corrupt C: drive complaints and problems with updates being foremost. It also deleted my Firefox installation 2x! What the heck! Very Happy

But I'm giving it a chance. I may become a fanatic yet? Very Happy

BTW- I have it installed dual with my XP. My XP is giving me a corrupt C: now, too. ??? Nothing bad seems to be coming of it, though.

the procedure for dual booting xp/vista is different depending on which o/s was installed first - did you follow the instructions exactly? if not that could be part of the problem.

I'm just speculating as I didn't dual boot xp.
