Here are the real guns I had in Canada

.303 Almost 80 years old. Super cheap. Ammo super expensive.

Winchester 30/30 mine had an octagonal barrel. Bought it for about
$300 sold it for $500 to a collector - ke ke

Ruger 0.22 cal. Fun, cheap to shoot.

Haha, same gun as above with a combat stock. My stock was a little
different. Still totally legal in Canada.

I also had a 12 guage single barrel and shot goose gun that used to
fly open when it was fired because of its age. I phoned the cops
and took it off my hands. Crap anyway.

PS: Why is s-h-0-t and s-h-0-0-t now a bad word on this "site"?

Yes... if at any point in your life you can say you've shot out the windows of a wrecked TransAm, there's a very good possibility you're a redneck.

So? I have a couple break-down pellet rifles at home and a .22. There is nothing wrong with sitting in my friend's yard and blowing up old beer bottles. I plan on doing that at least once when I go home between contracts.

If you'd spend perhaps a moment allowing the words I wrote to actually coalesce enough to form meaning in your head, you would realize that I wasn't bashing on your desire to shoot beer bottles or Trans Ams or cot'n pick'n varmints. I was commenting on the fact that people talk as if there's some sort of Airgun subculture that real live human beings actually care about and are part of. For someone who puts off like he's proud of being a "redneck" you sure are defensive.

I've fired restored .303s before. Very enjoyable.

Yes, I'd actually never qualify as a "redneck" in a million years. His implied point (implied, but rather quite obvious) was that there was something inherently wrong with being interested in guns (airsoft guns, real guns, et cetera) or with collecting them, or with harbouring any kind of fondness towards them whatsoever. I think shooting is a legitimate sport and I have been involved with it in varying degrees. Both professionally and bored-in-my-backyard-ally.

Of course, I was being rather plucky and careless when I wrote what I did because I wasn't aware that this was a serious topic. Finding loopholes in my logic to tear apart wasn't entirely hard, as I wasn't trying to make a genuine argument or defend any position.

I was goofing off, and this is the "goof off" thread if there ever was one. Boys talking about toys.

Scotticus, it is evident that you are the one with the problem here, not me (us).

Good lord, I said in my original post that I have no issue with people shooting stuff for shits and giggles. How much more do you want, a fucking disclaimer at the bottom saying *the author does not care that you shoot shit in your backyard, he merely thinks it's weird that people consider airguns a hobby worthy of keeping track of?

Holy insecurities, batman. If you guys get this pissed at someone commenting on your hobbies, I hate to see what you'd do if someone actually tried to speak to you about something serious.

I'll say it again, please take a hike. I didn't ask for information about buying one of these bb guns to listen to you rant on and on. We could get into your hobbies, posting usless sarcastic remarks to try and piss people off, but we won't.

I'm not sure what to get....I'm thinking a Glock like you have, (the 23F I think - the fully automatic one). But I've got a few questions for ya. You use a can of gas to 'charge' the gun, right? So, how many shots can you get from each fill of gas in the gun?? How many 'charges' from each can of gas??

It just seems a little expensive and could add up pretty quick if i have to buy lots of those cans of gas.

Or should I get a Tokyo Marui M4A1?? I might get a few strange looks for other people though with that gun Smile I found a used one (20 days old), haven't got a response yet, so i dont know if its in perfect working order or if something is wrong. But its going for 220,000won....seems pretty cheap. The Glock on the other hand, is 150,000won new.

Anyways, would appreciate your thoughts and info about the gas.

Cheers dude.

Depends what you want to do.

Gas blowbacks are sweet, I will admit that. There are differences tho.
For example Western Arms use propane for propellant, which is cheap you just got to make sure you have silicon oil for bushings. Don't use petroleum base lubs cause they will melt rubber and hose your gun. TM Gass blowbacks use green gas which is essentially is propane with Silicon lub already in the can. There was a scandal couple years back because people were paying like 20bucks a can which wasn't even safely manufactured. You could get a Canadian tire propane tank and a little machined addon that would do away with the greengas but you have to add lub seperatly. They are high maintanence. Mags are the biggest problem though you need to take care of them because they store the gas. So no droping, no heat and constant maintanence.. Usually you can get five clips off to every refill. Also you need like 3 or 4 mags cause they are low capacity so add another 30 dollars per mag, or refill in the field. (We palyed by no refiling in the field rules)

Novelty wise Gasblowback are sweet. They almost feel like the real thing.

Granted I haven't been in Airsoft for almost 4 years. I am sure things have changed.

I am impartial to TM.. Cause they are well made (Japan) Plenty of mods you can toss on them. My TM M4 looked like a Canadian C8.. Close to 1500 dollars worth of mods. I was heavier then the real thing.. Plus parts are available and on the most part cheap. TM guns are also workhorses very reliable. AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) take maintanence just like Blowbacks just not as much.

There are other manufacturers out there and their quility might have gone up.. I kinda liked Clasic army cause they were all steel from the get go unlike TM. But CA guns were garbage internally.

I was big into Military Simulations so I had authentic gear. As far as weaponry go for the M4A1 + High Capacity mag and your set.
400 Rounds VS 20 for a blowback.

If you want to plink or have a hobby go for the Glock you will enjoy it more, but it will be higher costs. If you want to actually play airsoft games, definetley go for the AEG.

Also NEVER re-use shot BBs in an AEG, especially a blowback. Get good quality BBs as well.

For my G3SG1 I had converted into a SAW, had custom made autloading 3500 Round mag.. I could shoot until the cows came home Razz

Just got home from buying a KSC Glock 23F. It's made in Japan (i think), is fully automatic (fires 20 BB's in around a second), shoots at around 300 FPS....and feels awesome, its heavy. I didnt know shooting a BB gun could feel so cool!!!!

I got the gun (KSC Glock 23F) for 270,000 including 4000 quality bb's, a can of gas, a quick loader, and some goggles. Fairly decent deal i think....I did a bit of research and have heard a lot of good things about this gun. Must say, I got to try it out in the store and was sold as soon as I shot it. I have never shot a real hand gun, but with this thing on automatic, it can feel much different......It's loud and very powerful!!!!

I can't wait to shot everything in sight tomorrow......Those 'hick' people I have heard so much about.....well, I may just become one. Laughing

Will report back tomorrow once I have shot the hell out of everything in sight.....
