in ireland the tv licence tax is per tv and not per household. businesses that have tv's have to have licences for them also.

very much blows...

Just think you had chance to ask me on the boat back to Busan! Laughing

It is a tax to fund the BBC which is illegal under EU law. I always remember buying my first house - a terrace house in Moss Side in Manchester and the TV license van came round and knocked on my door
as I opened my door my TV set was blazing away (I think neighbours was on) and the arsehole doing the checking goes 'ah I see you have a TV and are watching it with no TV license'

'Fook off you four eyed tosser' (he was wearing glasses) as I slammed the door in his face.

This being Moss Side, there was little chance of them enforcing the law over a TV licensce though there was a time not too long ago that you were sent to jail for a month if you were a repeat offender.

back then i never would have imagined the possibility of a "TV license".

are you back in korea now? you'll be delighted to know the kids steal everything out of my desk and have found a new thrill in breking the coloring sticks.

cheers.

We used to have dog licences too. Apparently Northern Ireland still has them.
Not sure if that was per dog or what would happen if an unlicensed dog was caught watching an unlicensed TV.
